great year! I would still like it if you kept updating though. Updating results can't hurt the ev much/at all?

Very nice, how many bbs is the mega upswing at hand 220k ish? Do you have any mental problems with an upswing like that or is it just the recent losing that got to you?

Lifetime graph in both $ and bb please

Unfortunately can't remember much from my BQ days except arty, who always baffled me why he wasnt moving up .

If I was to answer what I credit myself being able to actually go from micros to highstakes. I'd mostly credit it to being lucky enough of being taught good basics about the game at early part of my career by my coach internet (was funny during december when 20k was running at stars across multiple tables, we had tables where 3/5 of the regs all came up in the same stable few years earlier, and the stable probably didnt have too many over 20 players). Also to get to highstakes you need to be some sort of crazy and ignore the swings, but also not too crazy so that u go broke. And then also being lucky enough that all points of my career I've known and talked with players who have been better than I am.

Variance is definitely a *****. But I've always been pretty good at handling the $ swings that comes from mixing stakes and even the running under ev part of variance. So as long as I'm confident I'm beating the games in a healthy manner I've rarely had big problems with it (I don't really need the money for anything so while running for example 100k under ev sucks, it doesn't really affect my life in any way). The part where it gets to me is when my evbb graph plunges because with that becomes the questions, "am I actually beating the games?".

But I've always enjoyed poker a lot so even when I'm downswinging and at times hating the game, I only need to take 1-2 days off and I'm back enjoing the grind and the study part of poker. Though for some reason the downswing I'm currently on has been harder to deal with than bunch of previous times.

Don't really think it affects my ev too much, but mostly just want to get back to the sidelines of lurking in the forums. Having PGC is way more fun and useful when you are coming up compared to when you've actually "made it" when it becomes more of a way to brag, which is not really something I enjoy.

Not sure of the bb amounts of that. But yes mega heaters definitely make me more lazy about studying but during that heater I was pretty aware of how well I was running, so didn't really make the mistake of actually thinking I'm the **** and stuff. Made that mistake once in my career couple of years ago and after that I've been pretty cautious of becoming excited about upswings.

I prefer looking at other people's graphs to experiencing the swings myself!
The upswing in the middle of your graph is incredible though. That heater must have been a lot of fun. Congrats on the epic results.

I remember being stuck at NL50 for what felt like ages, but I wasn't even really good compared to field back then. NL1k was hard for me to break into ( think I shottook for like 12 months until I established myself at 1k), but I feel this was more of a variance thing, esp when it was like 2.5x size the stakes I mostly played, so if you run bad with shots it's gonna take a long time to be able to shot again.

Think top5 regs are linus, otb, bigblindbets, jasamgale and probably zarubant. Don't know too much about most 500z regs other than the fact that whenever they come to play highstakes most of them play like a total focking rocketscientists. Ishter and godofhu probably few of the top ones.

No real exit plan apart from finishing bachelor in next couple of years. I'm fairly confident that if I can find something to obsess about like I've done with poker, I can be succesful in it. I find finance very interesting and prob have some transferable skills to it from poker, but not at all sure if I'm gonna pursue it. Past few years of my life have been basically obsess about poker 24/7.

Keep it consistent and figure a good ways to study and improve consistently. I'd suggest finding a good coach, probably the fastest way to get to reasonable stakes. 14hours per day sounds like way too much. It's important that you actually can digest stuff while playing/studying. I've found my brain can handle like 6-8hours of doing stuff per day, more than that and my brain gets fried.

Don't think of the updates as a brag bit more as motivation for other people. A decent amount of people get motivated when they see success stories in poler are still possible. Anyways, sick year, gl in 2019!
