Congrats on an awesome and inspirational achievement.

Appreciate you may not want to give away some/or maybe all of the specifics of your strategy changes but can you give any insight into the types of things you changed to go from 5 bb/100 to 12 bb/100 as this is an amazing leap.

Well done again.

I think just being willing to fight for more spots would be the common inheritance when increasing my vpip and raise %'s in all spots has helped a bunch. Concepts such as "tournament life" are much less of a thing to me now. I think I was too attached to the kind of thinking of getting away from hands and that shackled my win rate by having a pretty bad red line.

I think the biggest cause was to auto-pilot with my routine and blame it all on variance. There are stats out there which you should be trying to achieve. I tweaked my game a bit recently and I've gone from 5bb/100 to 12 which gave me so many better platforms to hit potential scores (also managed 9th in the SWU this last session.)

Thanks! I'm pleased to hear it. I do try to give back to the one forum that helped me the most .

Ty, ty.

Time to asses new goals, I guess and maybe ask a mod if I could edit the thread title to reflect that.
I think there should be a thread for positive feedback for horses and stables. Far too much negativity in the Marketplace, there are good horses about.

Does the softness of the mtt have a big influence on how much you value your tournament life? For ex SM with 12 left vs ST with 12 left?

I think the ICM would be the key here. Average stack is very much likely to be lower in the SM compared to the ST. I don't disregard ICM, but it does have its faults as a model. I'll be willing to toe the line in spots where +cev < $ev. The more hands you can win, the less icm affects you 🙂.

Side note; I'm through to day 2 in the 2k with 280k ish with 17/109.

Will pm a mod with request to change the thread title and set some new goals later.

Got 7th for $56k. The final table didn't just didn't really happen for me. I came on in 3rd, but lost all the pots that were significant. Only one which left me feeling r/o, where I chose a really specific hand to 4bet vs sauce123 and he 5b jammed over the top while covering. Before then I played really good I think. Onwards and upwards!
