Fwiw the big problem is that gto is a break even strategy and your goal should be max exploitation. Play tight, play aggressive, build a roll.

ILCD, please define "float"
CaliPro-----Bankroll Building Challenge-------Poker, Life and Brainstorming Quote

Two different types of floats.

1. Just plain air, and your plan is to steal the pot on later streets.

2. Is my favorite; float with equity, like straights, gutshots, fd's also with plans to steal the pot if you sense weakness or the board their line and range allows me too. Such as scare cards for their range or your range etc....

How is #2 different than just drawing?
CaliPro-----Bankroll Building Challenge-------Poker, Life and Brainstorming Quote

Most people just play hit or miss on their draws. I want to steal the pot and I'm playing my villains range. Its the same concept of reverse floating. Where you raise like K J you cbet a one flop hopeing for a fold, you catch a ott now most people check oop here. But a reversefloat is to get your opponent to fold without ever hitting your flush.

I forgot to make that #3.

So under what scenarios would you "float" with equity?

**** MUBs and ABC poker. Should have folded pre lol. Effective stacks 35bbs. UTG raises to 3bbs,UTG +2 call, I flat KJ otb. Flop 5 J 8,UTG bets 10bbs,UTG+2 folds, Hero Calls, turn 8 UTG Allin 21bbs, Hero calls. AJ holds for villain.

Medium and low strength flop textures. Along with turns sometimes. But double ranges are a read.

This is why I hate playing tight. Effective stacks 100bbs, 3 limps to me in the bb with AQ and I raise to 5bbs, 2 callers. Flop Q 10 3, I bet out full pot, 2 callers, turn 8, sb shoves he has 30bbs, I call half of my stack since a same stack size is behind me. He shoves I snap call. Cards get shown up SB has K10, Other guy has QJ, River J, FML. Played perfect and still they get there.

Why such board texture?

What's a double range?

This getting upset about hands you would've hit has got to stop man. It only leads to tilt and future cards have nothing to do with the correctness of the decision to fold.

Is it better to play extra loose and get it in behind?

Honestly the way you post about hands and the way you complain about the beats/variance the more you seem like you're a virgin hooking up with a girl for the first time rather than a seasoned veteran with over 5+ years of experience.

I think its better to play loose and setup bigger pots when you are behind and small pots when you make your villains fold. Bluffs more profitable each street. So like a AirPFR, Cbet air and double air and villain folds will be more profitable then Airpfr blind stealing and everyone folds.

Not only do I put a lot of pressure on myself to win. But only think that matters is my bankroll. Beats is something I been getting for years. But they still hurt and my bankroll doesn't grow. Doesn't matter how awesome I am. I aint **** with no bankroll.

Maybe I am just not understanding you correctly.

In other words, you want to build a big pot when your opponents' range is strong, and you want to keep pots small when your opponents are weak, so you can make them fold?

The other way around. Sabr talked about it last week. He explains it way better than me.

Doesn't sound like you understand it at all the way you explained it.

How is that different than the fact that you think poker is your career when you haven't made a single dime from it in years?
