2p2ers...

Wanted to start a thread in here due to the fact that a lot of the other ones have motivated me. Im a longtime lurker, havent really posted, but i figure what better time!

BACKGROUND
Playing off and on for years...sometimes serious, other times just to play. Im a profitable 6man sng player, which is what this thread will revolve around. to sum it up, im a noob on 2p2, posting graphs, and sng programs. im going to give my current sharkscope stats just to give an idea of what kind of player i am.

GOALS
To steadily build a bankroll and stay within the guidelines i set for myself, which are 50 buy ins at each level. ive built my roll up to to $260 from $30, and am currently playing $5.50's on tilt. i will make the jump to 10+1's when bankroll allows..

QUESTIONS FOR 2P2
Are the sng games dead? ive read a lot of threads/discussions where the sng players are too solid and therefore no profit...thoughts?

What are some attainable/realisitc goals? ive never been one to set goals for myself...some help would be greatly appreciated!

stats...
tilt - 1840 games played, avg profit $2, avg stake $13, av. roi 15%, profit $3329

stars - 2334 games played, avg profit $2, avg stake $17, av. roi 15%, profit $4757

Thanks in advance for any help/thoughts/discussion!

how did you build your roll from 30 to 260? im currently building my roll as well but im finding grinding these MTTs a real pain, I really just want to play cash games but I know I have to build a roll first

i started grinding $2.20's on tilt with $30 bucks. its a little short bankroll wise, but i was pretty confident i could beat that level quite easily. i played those until i had about $190 then i jumped to the 5.50's.

ive just recently started this challenge, i just played a quick session and im currently at 275...ill play the 5.50's until i hit $550ish and jump to the 10+1's...thats the plan anyway...lol.

man, good job building it up, I also try to do that. I do it by Phil Shaw book though, helped me a lot. Started on 5.50 and now doing 10+1, rakeback is used for steps I transfer it to tourney dollars. I reached 800 today so I can move up to $20+2 sng but may be wait a bit until 1000 or so, because I had only 12% ROI in 10+1 limit and there might be slight drop in higher games... GL and see you at tables!

Careful with your BRM. Didn't read through everything but if you are playing turbos or playing more than 4 tables at a time I'd recommend a much bigger roll. Personally, I play 300 BIs before shot taking next level, but I'm a 16 tabling turbo nit that has seen some sick swings.

Recommend at least 100 buy-ins but looks like you are crushing.

P.S. I play 9 mans not sixes too but would think the variance is pretty similar.

Thanks for the response BAE...im playing 6man regular speed and 6-8 tabling. thankfully i havent had any massive downswings, but i definitely know they are out there.

ill definitely consider your advice and probably wait until i hit 65-75 buy ins before shot taking..afterall, i am trying to embrace my inner nit

Played a pretty long session yesterday, well long for me anyway. Started around 6 pm and played til 1 am (est). started the day right at $300 after my rakeback, my account currently sits at $430.67...

im very confident at the $5.50s, my question is how much can i expect my roi to drop when i move to the 10+1s and what is an attainable roi at the next level?

Thanks!

Sorry all...its been a bit since I last posted. I haven't had the chance to play much, with a full time job (working 50-60 hrs a week) poker sometimes has to wait...

The bankroll is currently at $530 and it seems I'm hitting a breakeven stretch. I'm up about 20 bucks the last two sessions...

$170 more and ill start shot taking at the 10+1s 6man. Wish me luck and grind away!
