7 handed with 3 props at table has happened vary rarely in my 5 month prop experience so far but at the end of the day the rake will be higher per hour than the total of three props hourly wage, but at a smaller room like Pala its probably pretty close due to lack of tables. Whereas at Oceans, they have enough tables going at all times to make money overall even with three props at a table.

Just got back from a vacation to Hawaii for a week for our friends wedding. It was a great and much needed trip, as I haven't had a proper vacation in many many years. I had tons of fun shooting pics and video footage of the waves at Sandy Beach with my GoPro camera, that camera has been my new obsession! We also got to eat some amazing food, with Chicken Katsu Curry from Zippys being my favorite, along with some homemade Udon noodles from Marukame Udon, and to top it off, the wedding was absolutely beautiful and really fun as well! All in all it was a blast and I really wish we could of stayed longer, but I gotta be back to work on Saturday night.

My job at Oceans Eleven is going great, I really do love it for multiple reasons and I think the main reason is how many hours it allows me to play, which means by the time my weekend comes around, the last thing I want to do is play poker, which is great for my life balance and being able to do other things that I like to do in my free time.

NFL season is finally back too! This is definitely my favorite time of the year, goooooo Chargers!!!! Great comeback win last Sunday!!!!

I'll leave you guys with some pics from the Hawaii trip. Have a good day!

Thanks again ghstflame!

REALLY?!?

Last Saturday we are playing 8-16 LHE at a short four handed table at 1am. UTG raises, I 3 bet with AK, SB who is an extreme short stack with $38 bucks makes it 4 bets, leaving him 3 chips ($6) behind, BB folds, UTG calls, I call. (Pot: $96) Flop comes 238 and it checks to me, I bet and the SB snap folds ($6 behind!!!!!)

WTF could this guy possible have to fold in that spot?!?! REALLY?!?

Finally got to check out Seven Mile Casino out in Chula Vista, and I was very impressed! If anybody on here ever went to Village Club then you'd would understand my low expectations when driving to Seven Mile to go play, but man was I stoked when I pulled up to see how nice the property was! I enjoyed everything about the place, nice chips, KEM cards, ocean views while playing, nice and clean environment. If I lived closer, I would go there all the time.

Been having lots of fun with my new camera lately. Its really fun messing around in shorebreak, trying to get new and interesting angles. Anyway, I'll leave you with a pic from last Friday out at Windansea in La Jolla. Have a good week, I'll be back in a couple days for a recap of September at work.

Thanks Carl, I'm so glad I ended up taking the job at Oceans. I have been having a great time so far and really enjoying coming in there for work. Let me know if you're ever in town, I'd love to have a reason to go down and check out Seven Mile again.

September 2015 is now history and it was a pretty good month. The vacation in Hawaii was amazing and much needed little break from poker and I ended the month with a winrate that I was proud of, which ended up being $39/hour not including my hourly wage at Oceans. The month went pretty smooth overall besides a little 3-day losing streak (September 19th-21st) which I gladly ended with my nice solid win.

At work I play lots of Limit Hold-em so I don't really have too many interesting hands to report, besides this one that happened late Monday night at 2-3 NL; I've been getting lots of premium hands and getting horrible runouts, so I have been playing lots of hands and not winning very many pots and would assume my image is LAG. The 8 handed table is extremely soft with 4 fish that don't fold with any piece of the flop so I am just waiting for a spot where I can exploit one for razor thin value and get a full double-up.

Anyway, on to the hand! UTG folds, I ($315) make it 15 UTG +1 with 1010, CU calls, button ($845) calls and BB calls.
Flop ($62): 694
I lead for $30 and only the button calls. I am extremely happy with this because the Button is an Asian fish who seems to always over-value his marginal holdings and I am hoping my image will help him in paying off my big bets on the turn and river given a clean runout for my read on his hand.
Turn ($120): 2
I lead for $75 and he tanks for a bit and calls. His body language as he was tanking makes me pretty certain he has a flush draw which may or may not include a pair. My plan is to jam all rivers that don't include clubs and or 6's or 4's, because I think if he flopped top pair he would of raised me on flop or turn given the way he has been playing thru-out the session.
River ($270): 5
Not the best card in the deck but since I didn't put him on 78 or any 3 in his range here, I tank and shove for $195. He tanks for a good 30 seconds and calls off. I table my 1010 and he shrugs and double checks his cards and ends up tabling 68 for middle pair and a missed flush draw, and I get the full double-up. I guess he put me on a triple barrel bluff I was really surprised he didn't raise the flop or play the hand more aggro, especially given the way he was playing before that hand.

That's all I got for now. Its really early for me to be awake and my brain is now fried from writing this post, THANKS *******S, have a good week!

My friend dragged me to The Bike today so we could waste our day with all the miserable tourney players in LA. Good news though, I ended up bagged 117k, which is above average. Day two is tomorrow, I'll update if we go super deep. Good night.

Good luck, my friend is in northern San Diego, any suggestions for a decent card room for someone getting back into poker after several years?

Why do casinos still put monetary value ($) on their chips? Get with the times people.

Tell him or her to give Oceans Eleven a try, its hands down the best option for poker in North County. They spread low-stakes NL all the way up to 10-25nl and great limit and O8 games on a regular basis, so they have something for everybody. Along with daily tournaments, great cheap food, and good promos, you can't go wrong.

Day 2 of the 200k at the Bike was a complete joke, I ran like crap. I lasted about two levels, and I only got to play four hands. I got my AA cracked by QT when the BB who defended my preflop raise, donk shoved for 45bbs on a J93 flop, I snapped and unfortunately for me I was drawing dead on the turn. That hand crippled me down to 4bbs and I was forced to shove a couple hands later with 55 and somebody woke up with TT and that was it for me. The best thing about this was that I cashed in the tournament on my first bullet and still didn't even make my money back?!? Payed $235 for the buy-in and got 263rd outta almost 3,000 entries and only cashed for $200, awesome payout structure!!!!! Never heard of a tourney that doesn't even pay the buy-in amount back as a min-cash. Oh well, just another reason to hate tournaments.

The state of poker tournaments is so bad IMO. 98% of the people that play tournaments look ****ing miserable. Grown men bitch and moan about suck-outs non-stop, a majority of people ask the dealer to scramble the deck every other hand they aren't dealt AA, young wizards in glasses and hoodies take WAY too long to make every decision and so and so forth. Aside from the employees event at WSOP, I can't remember the last time I had an enjoyable experience from a tournament. It just seems that people that play these tournaments over and over just hate their lives, and I can't really blame them

Anyway, enough with the negative crap. The waves have been great the past couple days and I've been getting so awesome pics with my Go-Pro, enjoy!

Ended October with a winrate of $27 an hour plus my hourly wage from propping. I had the biggest single session loss in three years in October which I gladly followed up with three solid wins which more than made up for the big hit. Pretty happy to salvage another decent month.

Been surfing a lot lately and getting more great footage with my GoPro camera. It really has become a huge passion of mine as I really enjoy being out in the water and getting fun footage and photos to share with my friends.

Most likely gonna stop updating this blog because I no longer find this website interesting and lack the motivation to come to this site and post stories and updates. Its been fun sharing my story with you guys and I'm sure I'll come back and share some new stories and poker updates if and when anything big happens, till then, peace.
