Thanks Carl, I'm so glad I ended up taking the job at Oceans. I have been having a great time so far and really enjoying coming in there for work. Let me know if you're ever in town, I'd love to have a reason to go down and check out Seven Mile again.
September 2015 is now history and it was a pretty good month. The vacation in Hawaii was amazing and much needed little break from poker and I ended the month with a winrate that I was proud of, which ended up being $39/hour not including my hourly wage at Oceans. The month went pretty smooth overall besides a little 3-day losing streak (September 19th-21st) which I gladly ended with my nice solid win.
At work I play lots of Limit Hold-em so I don't really have too many interesting hands to report, besides this one that happened late Monday night at 2-3 NL; I've been getting lots of premium hands and getting horrible runouts, so I have been playing lots of hands and not winning very many pots and would assume my image is LAG. The 8 handed table is extremely soft with 4 fish that don't fold with any piece of the flop so I am just waiting for a spot where I can exploit one for razor thin value and get a full double-up.
Anyway, on to the hand! UTG folds, I ($315) make it 15 UTG +1 with 10
10
, CU calls, button ($845) calls and BB calls.
Flop ($62): 6
9
4
I lead for $30 and only the button calls. I am extremely happy with this because the Button is an Asian fish who seems to always over-value his marginal holdings and I am hoping my image will help him in paying off my big bets on the turn and river given a clean runout for my read on his hand.
Turn ($120): 2
I lead for $75 and he tanks for a bit and calls. His body language as he was tanking makes me pretty certain he has a flush draw which may or may not include a pair. My plan is to jam all rivers that don't include clubs and or 6's or 4's, because I think if he flopped top pair he would of raised me on flop or turn given the way he has been playing thru-out the session.
River ($270): 5
Not the best card in the deck but since I didn't put him on 78 or any 3 in his range here, I tank and shove for $195. He tanks for a good 30 seconds and calls off. I table my 10
10
and he shrugs and double checks his cards and ends up tabling 6
8
for middle pair and a missed flush draw, and I get the full double-up. I guess he put me on a triple barrel bluff
I was really surprised he didn't raise the flop or play the hand more aggro, especially given the way he was playing before that hand.
That's all I got for now. Its really early for me to be awake and my brain is now fried from writing this post, THANKS *******S, have a good week!
