Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. So before i start my first thread I will give you guys some information about me :
I'm a 16 year old living in London
My Mom isn't in the best financial place ( you could say we're not rich...)
I have been playing poker since i was 9, with friends and people, My mom never agreed of me playing poker maybe because my "father" left us when i was 4 and he was an unbelievable addict, he won and lost, i guess its in my blood.
And I go to an unbelievable rich school, where it's £40.000 a year to go, The best school in London, ranked 3 in the UK, you could say I'm very smart, so my mom doesn't pay anything, i do feel a bit like a 'reject' Me and another guy are the only ones there not 'wealthy'... even tough I'm like 10x smarter then them
they still can make you feel like a not-wanted. Yes i'm friends with a lot of people there, but you know there is always the occasional 'posh' guy that is trying to make your life a misery, I'm a pretty psychically strong guy so it doesn't really get to me.
Now lets get to the poker < Kinda
Since you guys know I'm not the richest guy around i started 3 months ago on Pokerstars with a deposit of £10 ($16) and not surprisingly after I played 4 hyper turbo's of $3.50 (10.50 in total, I knew nothing about bankroll...) I lost very quickly , with the rest i just went in a 5/10 cents table and lost all. I had to get adapted to this new type of game. I made about £40 on ebay selling some badges, junk.. So i deposited £20 and this time it went really welly, a lucky break but i still got there, with 30$ (£20) i played the 7$ hyper turbo's and i won the first 8 i played, and it got me to like 120 dollars.. and that was 2 hours after i deposited , on the same day when i had 120 dollars i started with the 60$ hyper turbos and guess what i won? I go to 800$ in one day just with those, 800$ was A LOT for me and my mom, i told her about it, she was very pleased even tough I It was making it trough poker, she said well done son go get yourself what you want, you deserved it, i guess i never tought about giving her some money as well , something like 300$ she would have been so happy, but no ... What i wanted is to make more, so like an IDIOT i decided I wouldn't take the money out and play the 200$ hyper turbos , I lost all of them, simply because i was very scared of loosing that money, i had a mental breakdown for like 2 hours i was in shook, 'why didnt i take it out?' 'i should have thought about it more' so after that i go pissed, and i decided i would learn everything there is to learn, and so i did for a month , no poker just learning. I started by reading Super System by Brunson amazing book i learnt a lot, so not with my money using my mom's card i deposited £10 , she wouldn't mind if it's 10£ , that's what i tought, I made 50£ and lost again, so i kept on doing the same thing and i took 100£ in total from my mom's card, one day she checks and she sees, she was extremely pissed and we had a long conversation, that when i decided this is it, you guys know i said it's only me and the other guy that don't pay for the school because we are 'very capable' well he is going tomorrow on a 1month holiday, and he works at a pizza shop (Dominos) in the morning cleaning, It takes him like 1hour 45 minutes , he makes £350 a month from this job, so i kindly asked him if he would let me have the job for a month since he's going for a month and he said yes. So tomorrow i start working from 5 to 7 going school at 8 it takes me 45 minutes to get to school, learn till 4 and comeback , So this is where i am at the moment, from tomorrow I start Till the end of the month, it's a very hard job but i have to value money and treat them like gold, so at the end of the month I'm gonna have 350£ , 150 which I'm gonna give to my mom, she hasn't asked for it, but i figure it the right thing to do. and the 200£ ($300) into poker, My plan is mainly gonna be to play 7$ hyper turbo's and raise myself, to 600, and the occassional long tourney. I come back from school at 4 and i will play till 10-11 only to wake up the next morning to clean. But i deserve it , i should have been smarter.
My goals
To become Solid
No more silly mistakes
TO NOT USES SOMEONE else's money
To make my mom happy, and to show her Poker is a profitable game
--------------
Thank you guys for reading, I hope you guys comment and tell me what you think what i should do, a plan with the money in poker if you think 7$ hyper's isn't right, ask questions if you want. Thank you for reading, Chriss.

So here are the facts;

- You're playing underaged, which will result in a account freeze whenever you want to make a large withdraw, they'll ask for ID

- You're an inexperienced player

- You play higher stakes than you can afford ($7 hypers are a biatch)

- You want to make fast money

Just start with $3.50 regular/turbo STT's or 2NL/5NL/10NL cashgames, to learn the game. Hypergames are games with sick varience, you can be all-in good 100 times, and lose 90 out of 100. They require a insanely good mindset and big bankroll. With $300 you're not even properly rolled for $3.50 hypers.

GL with ur challenge, I hope you will consider my advice.

This.

You certainly dont come across as very smart. It doesnt take a genius to figure out $800 isnt enough for $200 hypers. Please use the word 'mum' rather than that silly Americanism. If your family are poor, how are you attending a £40k per year school? Do you have a scholarship or something?

Poker is for mature adults, you should wait until you've grown up a bit.

I do have a scholarship, I wasn't in my right mindset so I played 200$ hyper's like an idiot, i never said we are poor, we get an income of £70.000( 6k a month) a year, but i said we're not the wealthiest because the parents of people in my school get around 500-900k a year... And i don't really pay attention at my typing on the computer since i write really fast. I can afford a lot of stuff but when it comes to poker my mother doesn't tolerate it so she doesn't give me any money for it. Hopefully you can understand...

Poker? The don't know the meaning of it, I used to play chess with them in like 8th grade and beat them all the time but for minor games of £10. I am not offended but i don't pay any attention on my spelling when writing on the computer, and when i'm about to submit it i don't use google corrector or whatever is called so my writing will look impeccable, thank you for your advice but no one in the school plays poker if they did it would be easy money considering they get 2k a month from their parents.

Thank you for your advice

dude, ur saying stuff like boost up quickly etc this isnt the right mindset. You should slow it down, learn the game first then move up. Even if you just play 20k hands at 2nl move up 20k at 5nl move up. Its alot better than jumping straight into 10nl.

Do not play Hypers. Youl will without a doubt go bust, if not just for the fact your underolled, you'll tilt it off playing higher. They are sick games invented by the devil.

--- I'm solid in HU but for the start i wanna play some 6max to go and experience more...

I suggest you go back to school or work in McDonalds. Grind yourself a life rather than play poker.

OK. EVERYONE needs to back away from the keyboard before they do something illegal (like advising minors on poker).

Having said that, if OP really must get involved then spend the next 2 years studying the THEORY including maths, psychology and economics.

The pizza job is PERFECT! (No pun intended) Later, move up to driving Knishs truck! Get some life skills. Make some mistakes but whatever you do KEEP YOUR MUM OUT OF IT!!!

Read books, watch videos, maybe even play for free. Read 2+2 etc.

Rinse then repeat.

If you're still interested then go hit the Vic on your 18th birthday.
