Played mostly NL25, NL50 and some NL10 as warm up or on the side. Ran nice, but nothing special to be honest. Made around 480$ pre-RB, so quite nice. Hope I have a good next week also, that could put us into 1k$ for the month with RB.

I still don't find time/energy to review hands and watch videos on RIO. I feel comfortable with my play for now and understand what other regs do at NL25/50.

The only problematic situations are usually versus fishes, especially overbetting river and getting that nonshowdown value vs them and other regs.

week:

month november:

I'm down around 30$ in MTTs, but nothing special. Might play some higher ABI if I satelite into, like I have today into 10k€ and now waiting for it to start. Gonna play some NL10/25 on the side probablly and enjoy my comfort zone.

Another week started pretty good again, just some things I wanna left here and stick to myself as a challenge:

-> No coffe, cigarettes, alchocol for 31 days. This whole thing that I've never done before so frequently has gotten a little bit out of hand lately. It's not that bad from a normal person stand point, but it is utterly unnecessary and I don't feel good.
-> By the end of the year I should also get a 1 rep max of 140kg bench press, 160kg deadlift, 150kg squat. Cut down my weight from 88kg to 82kg and stick to diet.
-> Run 15km by the end of the year.
-> Meditate and do Wim Hof breathing exercise for at least 30minutes per day after running.
-> Don't whine in my head about how 'tough' the whole thing I'm doing with my life is to myself. Remember that I'm doing it with a reason and have clear thoughts about my future.
-> Watch RIO videos and learn, develop etc.. my game. Review hands (I have marked about 200 hands to review since the start of November and haven't reviewed a single one :c)

I've basically slacked off a lot for last 2-3 years, since highschool. Want to get where I was in my third year of it, when I was extremely fit/motivated/didn't cheat on myself and spew away my life.

That's all I want to leave here for now as a self motivation and reminder.

Damn mate, thats one sick disproportion. I guess you had been skipping legs and lifts for a long time
Quote

My body is quite proportiate, but my lifts aren't. That's because I never really cared and had a schedule with how I lift, I just went to gym and sometimes did 7 times a week max squat, bench and deadlift everyday lol. I never gave a **** about numbers or how I train really. I just did what my body told me to do when I walked in the gym. I'm the opposite of gym rat to be honest, because I have more background in martial arts.

Funny thing is I could be national champion in bench press right now in my country and my division (by far). I remember not training at all for 3-4 months and within a week and a half of training banged out 130kg on bench without arched back or anything that powerlifters do. There was also a dude 1 year younger than me that will be national champion this year 100% in his division this year and he always just looked at me in disbelief. He was around 86kg I think and was preparing whole year for his lifts, but never managed to bench 110kg+. However he had 260kg+ DL and 220kg+ squat I think. I was always making fun of him, but it was good time. Kind of want to train and get 175kg+ bench press just to make him wonder even more haha, but at the same time I know I don't want to go through preperations and do what I like to.

If I wanted I could have much bigger DL and SQ, but I never really trained like powerlifters and had training regime. I couldn't really care less about pushing heavy objects against gravity, nor did I ever give a **** about that in my life. Boxing/Kickboxing/Jiu Jitsu with a good trainer is something that is very very EV+ in life.

I've spent about 2 years in highschool being hybrid of powerlifting and bodybuilding, believe me it is much better to just do heavy trainings here and there, then some isolation exercises and run or martial arts as cardio. It feels good when you do heavy lift, but it also feels good being not sore all the time.

This is way too long than what I thought it would be.

TL;DR - When you can't buy trousers anymore, because your thighs and ass is to thick and a normal shirt not being fit, because you have enourmous ripped back... Is the time you should stop lifting.
Quote

Whatever makes you happy obviously. Its just always funny to see someone benching as much as amateur powerlifters, but not doing SQ/DL at all (or with lowass weights). But maybe thats just me

It's also hard for me to imagine someone benching 110, but squatting 220 and lifting 260...

anyway gl with your goals

It's basically 2 days since I drank coffe or do any nasty things and my mind is going a million miles per hour. I can't focus and can't keep still, I don't know what to do. Had a good session today and was up 90$ in the morning (could be even more if I wouldn't 3 bet with a hand I should just be flatting with pre and then 3barrel jam into a flopped nut straight at NL50..), but the second session was disaster and I ended up around -60$ for the day (really just me being tilted).

I just can't get my mind to be still and focus, I know I feel that way because of the implemented changes to my diet and overall health, but I did not know it will **** me up so hard. I can't even play NL10 at the moment and feel incredibly insecure at the table and everything I do, also craving coffe and cigarette or beer.

Previously when I did something bad, I just sitted out, went for a smoke and was back on track. Drank a little bit of coffe on the side and I would get maximum focus capability. But having no coffe or smoke today was just incredibly painfull and I don't feel I should even play with this mindset.

I hope this turns around or I don't know what I'll do, because I can't think straight at the moment and get tilted in matter of seconds (which I didn't do so frequently and quickly before).

I really like reading this. You know this inability to focus is just a side effect of you quitting coffee and smoking. I just hope that you don't give in to the feeling that you somehow need those things. It's just a rough time for like a week or so and it will be alot easier after that. Keep up the hard work!
Quote

Yeah, well I already lost the coffe, alchocol, cigarettes thing, because I went on a -250$ downswing that was totally my fault and result of not being in the zone, feeling secure with my play etc... I couldn't focus and just played like a jackass. So yesterday night I went out for a coffe, beer and cig to see how I will feel and it really calmed me down. Fired up some tables and felt a lot more secure in my play, like I was back in the zone.

So today, I said **** it and made myself coffe before grind, because I was in -250$ hole. I again felt really good, focused and motivated, which resulted in me winning about 350$ I think and coming out of the hole.

I'm definatelly quitting cigs, and I'll drink a beer or two on fridays/saturdays. However, coffe is a need, it is not that bad tbh and is EV+ right now. I did stick to other things.

Now I know how Ivey felt when he lost the vegan prop bet after two days, because he couldn't focus anymore lol on vegan food.

I did fire up some soft NL100 tables also here and there and ran well. But NL50 still hates me for now.

I'm going to do the update of last week tomorrow, as it is the end of the month. Last 2 days were ridiclious in terms of bad runouts and setups at NL50 and NL100, it's amazing I'm even up for the week after all this **** happening.

Gonna review a lot of hands, as I'm unsure about a huge amount of situations. I played very fearless at NL10 and NL25, but NL50 and NL100 are something else and I'm just stuck with a lot of spots and wonder about them for now.

This is going to be long post.

I'm probablly take it easy on grind and start watching more videos and reviewing more hands on forums, to get a better touch with where I am at on NL50/100. I'm so insecure about a lot of spots that I believe it is better to just take a step back for a while.
It's kind of funny how frustrfrated I am with myself that I'm not doing as good as I want to at NL50 and NL100, when I was losing/breakeven player 2 months ago. I should feel I've come far, but I don't.

I guess it's because I want to make 10k€ as fast as I can, but at first thought I'm going to only be able to beat NL25 for the next year and grind my way to my goal there. However, I'm pushing through NL50 already for some reason.

I'm trapped in some cycle where I feel super motivated and then just want to throw my hands in the air sometimes, I have this mental leak that has been going on for past 2.5 years. I feel that I'm finally about to breakthrough this dark period of my life, but I just don't know how to pinpoint where my problem lays on. I have focus/memory and study problems, I've watched plenty of documentaries where I have realized in the middle of it, that I've forgotten what the **** was the whole thing about 10 minutes ago. It's extremely embarassing to myself and I feel quite stupid usually, as if why can't I just watch the damn thing and memorize it like normal people do. Same thing goes with reading, I sometimes
read a page of newspaper and my mind just starts thinking 15 different things about what I've just read or how the sentance is written. After that I just realized I have again learned nothing from what I've read. Pathetic and don't know exactlly what to do about this, other than have a paper by my side and write everything down.

As I write this, I know that my preperation for last month was non-existent and I threw away a lot of time. Also not being focused to my maximum while grinding and take time to review and ask questions. Everything feels so time and energy consuming, but there is just so much I want to do. My sleep schedule is also ****ed up and I guess it is because I went out too much and that little coffe with friends, turned into 6+ beers usually.

I know I'm so close to finally turning my life around after 2,5 years, but I still find myself asking rhetorical questions and putting myself into spots, that I know were bad in the first place to put myself in. All in all, it's time to push through and get **** done so I can live on my own from next year on. Also take opportunities when I can, there is a lot of good people that help on this forum and it is amazing they give you good insight for free. Be it poker or life, I sometimes take that for granted and not appreciate it enough. I beleive I'm very humble, but I don't appreciate my own privileges a lot of time.

Main realization from this month should be that I'm almost certain I can hit my goal till September/October 2017. If I do, everything is going to be alright and I will be a in stress-free environment, doing my thing and not getting **** from anybody anymore.

Here's month graph, but as I've said there were a lot of ridiclious runouts and setups on NL50/100 last 2-3 days.
I'm also up about 220€ on rake, so that's a nice boost to the month as well .

MONTH: 675$ with RB and bonuses

I just feel drained and robbed for around 500-600$, not only in ridiclious runouts, but also got 0 EV out of them. NL100 went horiffic vs fishes, and also NL50. I don't want to complain, but holy ****, whenever I feel something going my way it is just demolished right away by being unfurtonate. I also can't take these swings, whenever I lose another 50$ I'm just feeling it really bad and I already use very agrro BRM.

I got 2 setups that I remember vs regs (flopped nut straight vs bottom straight and in 3b pot flopped set vs TPTK KA), but other than that it's just vs fishes. I know it is LOL sample size, but the tables are full of fishes and it's hard to not be profitable. I also try to play quite conservative on NL50 atm, because of BR and it is also bad. I can float with random hands vs certain opponents on certain boards and pull off a big bluff on NL10/25, but I've maybe pulled a big bluff once or twice on NL50.

There is also a good reg that is just destroying me whenever we play and it sucks when game is 3 handed vs a fish and him and I just get ****ed over and over, by whatever I do.

Some ****** hands (I know some of these could be played better..like jaming turn vs fish and getting value.., but w/e.. fish are fish and I just can't ch/f in the end). Stats are wrong due to converter

Just dbetted river because I felt money is going in the middle anyway, either he has some 2p hand, flopped set or flush.

I know I cry about these things only because my BR is not suitable for these games, but then again, I could of been already at at least 10%+ of my goal if I wouldn't run like ****.

Back to NL25 and NL10 it is probablly. And just do 80% of studying and 20% of grinding. Might take shots again on friday/saturday/sunday afternoons and nights. Thankfully there are donations from fishes, otherwise I'd be grinding NL10 only now due to this ****ty run.

I hope I find someone that would help me with NL50, because I know I've got tons of leaks and it sucks. Until then it's RIO and hand reviews. I will probablly get a 12 hour coaching + DB analyze review in future, but I don't have the money for that right now. I've met a great guy that helped me and is willing to help me, but due to my run past week I don't know if it is going to be possible as fast as I thought.

That's all for now, hope I hit 1k€ in december. I should if this **** turns around a bit, but for now let's just take on easier note.

Quick update:

Gonna take a week or two off. Maybe I'll just play MTTs in the mean time, because I can't stand playing cash games right now. I've played 2 or 3 days since December and I can't play for more than one or two hours, I just can't find the drive.

My thought process and focus on tables is non existant when I grind, nor do I have motivation to play and battle. Everything in me is just saying NO when I start a session. I've dropped around 280$ this month and I played about 3k hands. EV wise I'm good, but still, it's just pathetic and I don't want to play.

I'm gonna grind MTTs probablly and just change routine for a while. I know how benefitial it was when I went from cash games to MTTs and then back to cash games. I just need to lay off for now and take a rest for a week or two from cash games.

I don't understand what is wrong with my thought process currently, but something is very far off than it was a month ago. Maybe I burned out, but I'm also thinking I started being way too aggro and don't balance my image very well on the table. Also made some 'meh' unnecessary bluffs again, that ofc didn't went through.

peace, gl

Update:

Won around 500$ from MTTs in december. However, I still can't focus while grinding cash games etc.. I lose a buy in and just rage quit. I feel too much pressure from outside poker stuff and it is effecting me significantly. I'm probablly going to quit poker for now and geta real job for next 6-8 months and grind here and there.

I just think I'm not in the right state of mind and my BR is too low for me to feel confident about my game.

Plan is to work my ass off at work for next 6-8 months, save as much as I can and get myself a good coach that will find my leaks and give me an insight into better thought process. I just don't have motivation and energy anymore to continue with my poker grind, when I still have a lot of other things to do right now and they matter a lot more than playing cards for a living.

I'll update here and there, but I think my struggle with poker is ending here for now. I believe this will be better for me in the upcoming months.

Quick update:

-> Got gf that I really didn't want to get in the beginning of October. Wanted to focus on poker/school and other things. Broke up with her, because I didn't have time. After 2 days she convinced me to get back together. Say **** it, let's go. 2 months later she dumps me for the same reason I dumped her in the beginning, after I met her family and fall in love with her. Hearthbroken and financially broken sitting right now.

-> Got my first ****ty manufactoring job in start of January and told them I can work till May (school stuff to finish). Pay is fine, but work is 6x week and really ****ing exhausting (work in mornings, afternoons or nighshifts), never had to work so hard in my life for so little money. However, I now understand what it means to WORK for your money and appreciate time/money and life a lot more. My perspective about a lot of things is a lot different thanks to this ****ty job.

-> Plan to go full poker mode from the end of June until end of October, till college starts. I'm talking 10-12 hours per day, no excuses (this is 10 times easier than the job I'm working right now). I've basically ****ed around previouslly and pulled 80% of my pay monthly with poker. This will change as I transition to poker only again and start making those 3k€/month.

Another things I have to do right now are:

1.) Buy car
2.) Finish school
3.) Save up for NL50 6-max BR and get a good coach | Learn HU | Learn PLO

I'm basically busy from 5AM in the morning until 11PM in the night everyday, with job and school. I have no time for anything right now. but I'll make sure I show myself who I am and what I've learned from the past few months. I've been quite a pussy up until this point.

See you in June when I'm done with everything! By the way, if anyone is bitching about how hard poker is nowadays or whatever the **** your excuse is to not be good at it, I dare you to go and work at a ****ty job 6 times per week and kill your brain cells on same repetitive movement 8 hours per day. Poker seems like a fantasy job after all this.

Hello guys, long time no hear.. I've finished my exams 2 weeks ago and since then mostly played poker and tried out spins and lost quite a bunch, then went back to 6-max again.

Went from 200$ deposit to playing NL400 and NL600 in less than 2 weeks, but ran like cancer there. Hands below..

My main game will be NL50, 100 and 200 for now, since my heart breaks when I lose a buying on NL400+ and have waaay to small BR for it anyway, but I feel confident as **** and regs up to NL200 started sitting me out.

Small sample, but I can finally play poker and will put in a lot more volume.

4th hand on NL600..

Innnnnn! **** yeah poker seems amazing when you're grinding a ****ty no life job. I'm currently trying to juggle full time work + study + moving up in poker + gf. Making progress on all fronts but it's a grind haha.

You mentioned boxing/BJJ earlier in this thread? How's that going? Best of luck. ****ing crush this! Vamossss

Currently I'm home alone for a week and drink a lot. Haven't been going to boxing/BJJ in 1.5 years, because it's too far.

Have to get back into grinding gym for a while and grinding bankroll, then buying a car and figuring out if it is worth it driving 30min every day for a boxing training.. We'll see. I hope to finish school for now, then preferably move to Thailand in winter and grind poker for a while. Don't know really how everything will play out, but if I win 50k€+ in next year, I'd probablly buy an aparatment in a town and grind out poker for next 5 years.
