Hi all, this is my first thread and my aim is to move up the micros.
I've been playing poker now for a while now but never really any kind of volume its always just been for a little fun now and again, but i'm determind to give it a shot and see where it takes me.
I've decided to start at nl10 6max, with a starting br of $250. Would be grateful for any input on my play, gonna play 4 tables at a time as i feel comfortable with that. I work full time so i can only play 3-4hrs on a week night but my aim is to get in bout 7000-10000 a week.
I plan to update this after every session with how it went and a couple of hands that i'm unsure about or think i played bad.

the 1st session went well, mostly thanks to one hand!

Should this always be a fold on river, looking back i can't see what hands i'm beating, anything that he calls light with on flop and turn doesn't help like A9, QJ i think he's always checking river. I don't have a massive problem with this hand as he bet small so it didn't cost me much, but the way i was playing i think i would of called a bigger bet, stupidly maybe even pot sized.

Also even though i work fulltime i have a lot of time in work to read and browse 2+2 so any book recommendations or good threads to follow would be welcome!

              Day 3 Not to good

Never really got going, felt tired and little tilty most the session.
Was limping to much instead of folding or raising, bet sizing was at best dreadful, got my stack in with QQs when i was in bad shape and i knew it.
Suppose not bad just over 1BI down all things considered.

As u can see from the all-in EV line i got lucky early on!

Felt i played quite well last night after that apart from a few lacks of concentration, and became a bit spewy towards the end.

Should I be getting away from this on the river, he was a bit of a fish, i think he could shove with 2 pair and sets and flushes obvs. How much more often he has flush though i'm unsure about.

Ok so my plan to play quite a bit over the weekend never worked at all, was out getting pretty drunk saturday and was little to hungover sunday to play, so just chilled with films and watched the mighty reds smash spurs 5-0. Heres a round up of week 1.

So thats ok, i defo had more than my share of good luck last week. so can't really be too happy.

                      Week 2 Goal:-
                      Play minimum 10000 hands

Played a little session tonight went reasonably well, 2nd half was little annoying, seemed to keep running into the top of peoples ranges, but kept it together and tried not to spew off to much

will try and post some hands later gonna go catch up on homeland

He was a very special kind, Unfortunately i didnt have position on him so someone else benefitted better than me! I did tho get bout a 2BI from him.

I just didn't have 4-6 in his range, i also dismissed aces as i was certain he would 4bet preflop when BB calls my 3bet. Didnt really feel like carrying on after this, so taking a break, gonna try and play a bit later on

We had history but no excuse, very fishy titly behaviour! Tilt triggered by frustration, 3 betting a lot of good hands (AK,AQ,JJ etc) against players who are PFR 30%+, flops missing, and getting check raised all-in or pushed off in other ways. Needed more patience and to pick better spots

Lazely had couple days off so most definetely not gonna make 10,000 hands this week, ah well. Had a session 2day went well. A lot of bad players on tonight so getting paid from hands was quite easy.

Should i be worried about red line or is that pretty standard at micros 6-Max.

Week 2 over with, this is how it went

Felt like i've not reallly played my best. Also been a bit lazy with reviewing sessions and seeing what my biggest leaks are.

Overall this is how nl10 has gone

                            Got a winrate of 7.2/100
                            BR is $339.63

Far to small a sample to take anything from so aim is to just try and play more hands this week and also the more obvious try and play the best i can, also review hands after a session.

Been tempted playing more tables but i still feel that will hurt me in trying to play my best!

Annoying couple of hands, managed to calm myself after them though, so i feel i'm managing mentally better.

This next hand was just as annoying, i gave away the strength of my hand to easy, i just assumed villain wouldn't be able to get away from top pair. Played it bad!

44 hand, he probably didnt even have an A. Dudes who run 52/22 over 100+ hands are never folding TP at 10nl. He was more than likely bluffing which is entirely possible with an aggression of 8.3.
Board is dry as hell, so its not bad to flat either and let him keep bluffing.. hard OOP though

GL in your quest man, keep at it

hand1 AQs : 4x the 3bet pre to compensate for the fact that you will be playing the hand out of position and give speculative hands a worse price to continue. I'd cbet the flop having 3bet pre so that floped sets don't get to draw to a boat for free(also applies to 2 pair but less outs for those hands). Get them to pay while they think that they still might have the best hand and that you are cbetting your overpair ,overpair+FD.I'd bump the flop back up to 4$ to get value from his Kcx hands and call a shove on the flop.

hand2 : don't complete either raise it and cbet virtually any flop or just ditch it, what you doing if BB raises ?you are certain to be playing any hand here without having any idea what opponents have and truly is a guessing game.

hand 3:call flop will give a 4.50$ and $5.50 effective stacks left. I kinda like a $1.50 bet on turn. if he calls its now a 7$ pot and 4$ effective stacks and an easy river 1/2 pot shove that's likely to be called or he shoves over and an easy call.

So not really played over christmas, just chilled and enjoyed myself. Had a good session tonight.

After this session my BR was just over $400, so decided i would have a 5BI shot at nl16.

This is my overall graph for nl10

                                  Winrate 10.01/100

So after a hour break decided to 4 table at nl16 and it went well

I played well and ran great today. People seem less passive and more aggressive at nl16 and seem to run into a lot more regulars, average players seem to be like 25/20 kind and doesn't seem to be no where as many 80+/5 types that u would often run into at nl10. Still seen a fare share of people spewing away chips, which makes me optimistic i can be a winning player at this stake

So the last week was going ok till last night, it went a bit wrong last night but felt it had been coming.
I haven't really been playing well, table selection was basically non-existent. It has also felt a bit robotic, hard to explain but looking back I hope this is a wake up call. My red line is a worry aswell i think.

I'm doing something very similar. Was playing FR until I saw this thread right after a tilt/dowswing... I then played 4 tables of 6-max and got my session back into profit, Thanks!

I'm playing 10NL too, and I'm from the UK too... PM me if you wanna get me on skype or something, talk strategy and help each other?

So although this week hasn't been amazing or anything I've felt better at the tables, been watching training videos, reading other threads and generally keeping my head and not losing it (too much)

Not been staying too long in games where there has not been much of a edge, realising theres just too many weak players out there to waste time battling it out with ok regulars. Anyways my plan from now is to keep just grinding away. Original plan was to take a 5BI shot at 25nl when I get BR of over 625, I think thats reasonable as long as I move down if I get stuck.

Hand i'm not sure about, I really think looking back, I think i was good here, after 119 hands his steal from button was 83%, i therefore think he's raising and not limping button with 99s,10s and probably 44s. 9-10 could be in his range but i find it more likely he had TPTK, TPGK or good draw (nut flush, JsQs) I played flop bad, could of bet more, had a fish in MP who is calling very wide! when BTN raises calling is the worst of all options, feel now i should of shoved. b/f is also better than b/c i feel!
