Hi everyone, my name is Finn and this is my first post here.

I have been playing online poker on and off since leaving uni in 2011. I started out with tournaments and had some relative success at the micro stakes. Back in 2016 I gave cash games a shot - again some relative success but my mindset was certainly holding me back. Huge tilt issues!!

I had a few years away from the game due to work commitments and kind of fell out of love with the game.

In the lockdown in 2020 I started playing again with a new found passion and invested in Hold'em Manager - hoping it would aid with my development. Again, I had relative success at the micros, but with the addition of Hold'em Manager, I became far too results oriented. I would obsess over winrates and red and blue lines - not healthy for my mindset, especially as a self-confessed perfectionist.

This obsession with results kept making me restart bankroll challenges with the goal of playing A-game poker all of the time. A few bad decisions later I would rage quit the challenge and start again. I've never been able to track my results over a large sample, but believe I am a winning player at 2NL and 5NL

I've started playing again this year at 2NL zoom and have played 36,000 hands at a winrate of 9bb/100. Not too bad but I still have much to work on. A big issue at the moment is watching streamers play 50NL plus and applying their strategies at 2NL - they certainly don't always work in the 2NL pool! I bluff and bluff-catch far too much!

I am going to start a new bankroll challenge, starting with $100. I hope that this forum will keep me on track with perseverance and to not stop-start the challenge just because of a few poor decisions/sessions. I WILL play through the swings with a positive mindset and post my results here on a daily/weekly basis. I don't expect to climb through the stakes at a fast rate, but I would be really pleased to reach 25NL by the end of the year.

My main goal from this year of poker is to accept the ups and downs and to become more resilient over my mistakes. I believe with an improved mindset and more discipline I can reach my goal of 25NL

I hope to get in the region of 10,000 hands in per week and will stick to the following bankroll rules:

Start $100 2NL
5NL $150 (30 BI) Move down at $120 (24 BI) leaving me 60BI at lower level
10NL $300 (30 BI) Move down at $250 (25BI) leaving me 50BI at lower level
16NL $480 (30 BI) Move down at $416 (26BI) leaving me 42BI at lower level
25NL $875 (35BI) Move down at $775 (31BI) leaving me 48BI at lower level

It's quite conservative, but will require me to put a reasonably large volume of hands into each stake. Also by only risking 4-6 stacks on a shot will leave me highly rolled when I have to drop down - just for my peace of mind

If my bankroll management plan has any glaring mistakes then please let me know and I can move those goalposts

Could someone please let me know how to post graphs from Hold'em onto this feed?

I look forward to keeping this diary updated. Hopefully there will be some interesting spots to post and most importantly I look forward to improving my game and being able to look back at my progress

Thank you in advance if you have taken the time to read my opening post

Hi, Finn!
Welcome to 2+2!

I definitely like your bankroll management.

Not long ago, the forum introduced the ability to upload images without third-party resources.
Now publishing graphs has become much easier.

Good luck with your Bankroll Challenge!
