I'm an 18 year old student about to graduate high school and go to college studying computer engineering in the fall. I've recently deposited 50 bucks into Bodog (plan to swap to carbon once I get my 500 poker points) and hope to build my bankroll this summer and throughout college for the next 4 years to hopefully go pro by the time I graduate (if not I'll have my degree as a backup but with enough dedication and time I think I can do it). Here are my results thus far

Had a sort of bad downswing at the end of last week and after reading numerous threads and plugging a few leaks (mainly not playing tight in the blinds) I've been positive and hope to continue the trend. Any support and feedback on hands I post would be grateful. I'm gonna post updates hopefully every day wish me luck!

+$14 in a 2 hour session today ~500 hands (only play 4 tables atm). Here are some hands I have questions on

Bodog - $0.05 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

UTG+1: $2.62
MP: $1.85
MP+1: $14.37
LP: $4.86
CO: $9.13
BTN: $5.99
SB: $4.98
Hero (BB): $5.00
UTG: $4.61

SB posts SB $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has 3 J

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.05, fold, fold, fold, CO calls $0.05, fold, SB calls $0.03, Hero checks

Flop: ($0.20, 4 players) T 3 2

Spoiler:
Hero shows 3 J (Flush, Queen High) (PreFlop 35%, Flop 53%, Turn 0%)
CO shows K 7 (Flush, King High) (PreFlop 65%, Flop 47%, Turn 100%)
CO wins $1.90

villain is 32/2/.67 over 71 hands. Should I have approached this hand differently or is it okay as played?

Bodog - $0.05 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

UTG: $5.25
UTG+1: $3.26
MP: $0.89
MP+1: $10.06
CO: $6.20
BTN: $5.10
Hero (SB): $6.64
BB: $1.50

fold, UTG+1 calls $0.05, fold, MP+1 calls $0.05, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.03, BB checks

Flop: ($0.20, 4 players) 2 4 8
Hero bets $0.15, fold, fold, MP+1 raises to $0.50, fold

MP+1 wins $0.50

Same villain in this hand as first, I'm thinking he has a set here? Possible sc (24) and raising with a 2 pair?

GL bro, im doing the same but hope to go pro sooner. H1 seems fine, hand 2 folding is ok as we are oop. Cf in hand 2 i don't mind also. I think his range is wider than sets but we are oop and is hard to continue with A high.

Hand 1: Bet more on turn imo. Could bet more on river aswell (he'll call with a wide range here)

Hand 2: If you want to play that hand postflop, you should always raise. There's also no reason for betting that flop, just give it up. People call and raise with all kind of silly stuff on these stakes.

Been forgetting to update this thread! Lol. Over the last few sessions I've managed to double up to 100 bucks in my bankroll over 10k hands woo! I also realized how much rake adds up over these micro stakes and so I've cashed out and will deposit on carbon with rakeback.

I'm also undergoing a review of my play over these 10k hands and also found some pretty big leaks in my play which I hope to fix. How many hands do I need to play at these stakes to know I've "beaten" 4/5NL?

Well I deposited onto RPM today and am up +1 BI this session which is pretty decent. Still getting used to the software and mergekeys makes things a lot easier than bodog, will post some hands later but I need some sleep lol.

I hope to beat 4NL and move up to 10 or 25 by the end of summer

You probably need over 50k hands to say you are beating the limit, although 100k seems to be the number of hands you can say with confidence. But in the micros if you are beating it then you probably will only play 25k at a limit.

I try to not worry about if i'm beating a limit until i get to higher stakes where i' likely to be there for a lot longer. If your BR is going up overall then be happy for now.

You've definitely got a point there I can't complain.

For whatever reason my PT3 trial ended 2 weeks early and I had to download HEM which is nice, I definitely like the HEM HUD better and it seems more user friendly but it seems like PT3 has the features to better analyze your play, I still have to mess around with it.

Was this fold correct? 13/7/2.4 over 90 hands, he had position on me with 2 pairs on the board. I put his range on 67,78, AA, KK, QQ, AK, possible suited A6, A7.

Hand 1: Fine, ur getting good potodds and he could have hand like AJ or A10 with club or some other weird flush draw.

Hand 2: I would probably bet the river in that spot . Probably around 70 cent and fold to a raise.

Check/folding I think is pretty terrible. In that spot he will bet so many busted draws (45, 85, 89, 10 8, spades etc) so I think u should have called. Note that he probably never ever has a 6 because 1. Its unlikely he called preflop with a 6. 2.He probably wouldnt have called 2 streets with just a 6.

U probably only really have to worry about him having a 7 which he might actually have raised the turn with or folded pre.

Oh, didnt see what u put him on.

      1. He doesnt have AA, KK, QQ because he would have 3bet that pre.
      2. Probably not 67 or 78 with those tight stats.

+3 BI today. Was feeling good and felt as if I was playing pretty solid up until my gf got me tilted so I quit..lol. The tables on merge are definitely not as soft as bodog I gotta say but I guess it's better to play with not as many fish if I actually wanna improve my game. Will post some hands later I'm off to sleep

It's been forever since I've posted. I took a break here and there, made a move to 10NL and proceeded to hit a downswing, moved back down to 4NL and am working my way back up. Here are some hands recently

      Merge - $0.04 NL - Holdem - 5 players
      Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

      BB: $4.37
      UTG: $8.65
      CO: $5.15
      Hero (BTN): $4.15
      SB: $3.36

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

      Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has T T

fold, CO calls $0.04, Hero raises to $0.20, fold, BB calls $0.16, fold

      Flop: ($0.46, 2 players) A 8 A
BB checks, Hero bets $0.30, BB raises to $0.72, Hero calls $0.42

      Turn: ($1.90, 2 players) 9
      BB checks, Hero checks

      River: ($1.90, 2 players) J
      BB bets $1.24

      BB wins $1.81
This villain is 50/28 over 120 hands and had been 3betting pretty light hence my call on the flop. I put villain on 22-99, JJ, 78, 89, A2-A10 on the flop raise. Lack of turn barrel made me think he was more 22-99 or he was trying to induce a bet. The river bet made me confused and I felt as if I was behind his river betting range, whats the right move here?
