So this is my third thread on here. The other two I never made it even a week before going to my old ways (putting my entire roll in one SNG after a bad beat or something) and went busto as usual. Then around Feb 1 of this year I discovered Pokerstars "restrict tournament buy in limit" feature, and immediately made the switch from Full Tilt. Since then, I have for over a month for the first time stayed within my bankroll management limits.

I deposited $38 to pokerstars at the start, and played $1 9 mans until I had $100, and have since been playing $3.40 9 mans (to reduce variance) along with 3.25 turbo 45 mans (I also throw in a 180 man here and there in hopes of binking ). I am currently at $210...and intend to move up to $5 once I reach $400.

Here are my stats since the beginning (Feb 1, 2011) (I did play a couple larger MTT's which I filtered out because I am no longer going to play those as they are too long for me and I get bored and spew)

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I had about 200 games on pokerstars before this from last year and before when I was a tilt/spew monkey and my roi was -22% LOL.

Now, after a little over a month of playing with BRM, I don't think I would even need the buy in limit feature anymore, but I'm going to keep it in place just in case

I have no time frame for this $10,000, but I will keep updates on this thread.

Starting bankroll: $38 Current Bankroll: $210

Very good day so far...played 8 or 9 sng so far...have a 1st and 2nd in 45 mans...up ~$54 on the day...taking a break before another set later

current bankroll: $264.08

edit: on a side note...as I mentioned in the OP...after my first 200 games or so on Pokerstars from back whenever...my ROI over all games was a laughable -22%...I am now officially into the positive with a positive 1% ROI including all games (796 total)

Taking a shot at a 180 man $3 rebuy...anyone say just call the turn too and raise the river here since the board is pretty dry to avoid chasing them away...I just didn't wanna see another heart

Past two days got some games in here and there...mostly at the airport and in the hotel room on spotty connections, and it definitely affected my play. Down a small bit, but back home and normal playing later today.

Good luck with this, will be following since I have a very similar goal. You have also inspired me to utilise the buy-in restrictions on Stars.

Best invention ever, lol...I used to be sooooo bad with it...if I bricked several SNG's in a row I would put like half and sometimes even my entire roll in one...and play it while on tilt at that. I had a stretch of over a year where my ROI was positive but I lost over $1,000...lol...this feature changed that completely. Good luck!

edit: and one of the best parts is that once you actually do play for a while using correct BRM...you don't want to stray away from it. After over a month of playing only $1 and then $3 sit n gos building up...I would never want to risk it anymore. I keep the feature still in place just in case, but doubt I would actually still need it.

Good day today but was close to being a lot better...came in 187th of 3542 in a $1 rebuy tournament (which I only re-bought and added on once so $3 total) for a $25 cash...but I got knocked out after going all in QQ preflop and getting called by 22 who flopped a set...if I won that hand I would have had a large stack and had a chance to go deep....I also played the 9 mans well today:

Daily: + $66.98

Current Bankroll: $389.96

Hopefully tomorrow is my last day at the $3's...will take a shot at the $5's on Wed if I get above $400 tomorrow.

Seeing huge improvements in my game with the consistent playing I'm putting in...here are my stats and graph for my last 300 games:

I am playing the $5 now...dropping down to $3 if I go below $300....Started today with a 9 ma 9 table set....bricked all 9...ran as bad as I can ever remember...every underpair to me all in preflop seemed to be hitting a set...shoving with the best hand on the flop got called and drawn out on me every time...it was crazy how bad I ran. And when that didn't happen, I was reraising all in with queens or kings and the other guy had aces. Played two more sets and won back it all but about $6 or $7 so I'm almost even on the day. Going out now...may play one more set when I get home.

Kinda sucks though...I've played 25 games today....my ROI on my last 16 games is 48% and I'm still down a little on the day because of bricking the first 9 lol.
