Just had another very odd day. I played really well and ran super hot hitting loads of cards. I didn't get paid really at all but didn't lose any hands so nice steady run up. Then I made the worst mistake I've made in a long time and lost all of my profit really.

Pre is fine, flop is fine, turn I should have raised but probably OK as hoping he has 3x or overpair or AJ.

River the J comes and I think gin I'll bet and hope he thinks BS on double paired board. Even said to myself hopefully he has Jx and shoves. Just didn't register that I would lose. I'd decided on the flop I was getting stacks in and just carried on. Runner runner jacks to over boat me blows though.

FFS.

Another bad day at the office sadly. Nut flush beaten by river boat for full stacks and a couple of missed barrelled draws meant a lost buyin overall.

Nothing to write home about. Mental game was OK if a little tired. Technical game was OK as well (weak as usual).

Poor day continued but booked a big win by luck. I had awesome tables with crazy spewtards throwing stacks around but I was totally card dead so could only watch as they ran up and got stacked.

I then won a BI with AA. Guy called 3bet OOP with KQ. I flop a set. He called my flop with a GS and BDFD and hit on the turn. I river a boat to win. Sucks to be him.

On the turn I don't know what to do. Lose the BDFD and if he calls flop I'm not sure anything is going to fold on that turn plus also there is the chance that now my draws are all dead anyway. X/C small bet with odds vs agressive player like this (and also X/C if I hit) and X/F to big bet was my plan on the flop but when it came up that just felt like throwing equity away.

So I haven't played NL10 in a long time (like 1 year) but you gotta keep applying pressure to really tilt the **** out of your opponents especially if you're sitting at a table and not zooming. NL16 pretty much plays the same as NL10 IMO. I think pairs under the board fold sometimes. And floats all fold on this rainbow board though you're not repping much (but what would they know, it's not like they can read hands)

Bet turn, shove any river seems fine. Or you could shove highcards only if you don't think he folds Tx. You do block JJ, QQ though.

Just because it's a low card doesn't mean he can't fold 9x or possibly Tx/78 or JQ(unlikely)/gutshots/A high floats. When we bet turn we either crush him or have a bluff and it's more likely we crush him from his POV.

QJs flat is +EV I just thought it would be more +EV to 3bet as can pick up the pot, put pressure on the min raising BTN who will be my main customer for the session and if I flop big then I might get more out of a tighter range. I suppose I had not really expected the BB to come along.

Wow I am a total nit though then compared to you. No way I would shove a completely bricked river with Q high after 3betting pre and betting two streets and getting called. Turn bet I am on board with and shove if complete or maybe if A lands on river.

Vs a guy that's stealing 5/5 times and has already folded a couple of times to 2 (2/2 I presume?) 3 bets, I would rather 3 bet a polarized range vs him. When he calls a 3 bet it's more likely to be hands like KJ, AJ.

I think QJs is perfect to just flat in this situation.

I know it's hard at first to bluff stacks off like this but it's very likely +EV.
If he's decent it's pretty likely he'll fold a large % of his range (Tx) on the river because we rep so strong.

If he calls you down then w/e, make a note of it and stack him later.
You will be balanced and hard to play against though.

I'd bet $3 OTT, shove any river. Try and keep his range as wide as possible OTT to get max value/FE from river shoves. You also have $10 behind to shove into a $12 pot, nice SPR, better than $4 OTT imo.

Session of two halves yesterday with a a big run up where I stacked three guys with overpairs or TPTK with sets then a nasty spell where I hit nothing and lost almost all of it

Played too passively once I was ahead and called too much. I was hitting good draws but then missing them all. I could have played the draws faster.

Stuff like this.

Downswing continues. I'm playing fewer tables and reviewing my hands I don't think I'm playing too bad actually. No gigantic mistakes, I'm raising good hands pre and getting nothing and having to fold. I turned a flush in limped pot and didnt get paid. A lot of fishes I was calling down with OK hands drew out on me and all my value raises got folds.

One of those days. No interesting hands to post I don't think.

Saver for some kind of rungood some time. Let the nit hit the cards against me so I get away. Let me catch a draw once in a while. Mainly though let some idiot spaz his stack to me like in NL10.

Saver worked temporarily. I hit some of my draws but couldn't get stacks in. No mind its nice to win some. Then I got set over set. Booo. Nothing I could do much about. I shoved both the flushes though I could maybe have bet smaller but given the aggression I'd shown would have looked fishy probably. Dunno. Should have made some money on the rivers I think.

Time for bed. Night night sweet saver.

This guy had just 8x open witrh AT then called off a 30bb 3bet before donk stacking off on A high flop. Figured any loads of 1 club hands and any Q would be in his range and he wouldn't give it up.

Turned it around in the second session with KK all in vs AK and it held up! I also cleared a bonus from VPP's for $10.

Then I did this. Poor play but the hand reading was OK and was a snap in the end.

Pre was loose but OK I think as the caller was crazy. Calling cbet is OK with TP and BDFD. Raise with UTG firing felt like could be dominated. When he checks I was planning on raising to take it down. Overbet from the CO felt like weak A, FD or 9 trying to run us out. From the check I had no fear from the UTG player facing two all ins.

Bank holiday weekend saver.

Spoiler:

I'm down a little bit so far after getting caught into spewing off half a stack to guy who limp/reraised KK from the SB.

Saver worked and I won a couple of flips with QQ vs AK both times. Nothing else to write about from that session. Interestingly for me tilt is not often something obvious like it used to be. I'm pretty chill win or lose which is nice and +EV. Still wandering though and faffing on here while I'm playing which I need to cut out.

Had another session where I didn't play well. NL25 is owning me at the moment. Its also going backwards in NL16. I'm about breakeven at NL16 at EV (+5bb/100 actual but being lucky on the all ins) and losing at a solid clip of 6bb/100 at NL25 (only about 4 BI but w/e).

Worse though is that any wins I get is luck/coolers dished out to the other guys. My ranging is not great and I'm as a result I'm making poor choices. I'm not able to find enough obviously exploitable players to my idiotic eyes like at NL10 to make up my win rate.

I've also been expanding the tables I'm playing. I need to refocus now. BR stands at $750 which is nicely rolled for NL25. I'm going to move to totally NL25 for 6BI. If I drop to $600 I'll move back to NL10. I don't like NL16 really. The sizing sucks and the game plays oddly. I'm going to go to 2 tables again. 1 extra table allowed to ensure I always have 2 good tables to concentrate on. Just stacked out of the way and played simply until I work out if it should go into focus or not. I need to rework my ranges again and stick to them. I was able to expand away from that in NL10 but I think I need to go back to basics.

Hoping for some rungood (and more discipline from me) as I try to settle here at NL25.
