Update after a week.

Had a bad session last Saturday and lost about $6 of my roll, standard variance, coming up vs AA when had KK, my AA's being busted by other pairs etc

So I took a week off as my game was getting affected, restarted yesterday and back on the upswing

(You can see where the downswing started... nearly a 100 game break-even stretch... sigh )

gl with this i always have a read when i see this thread, you need to be putting in way more volume though if you want to move up at any real pace

thanks, i've upped the volume this week, trying to play 30+ a day

on a sick breakeven stretch at the moment, really not sure if its variance, or that people have reads on my game (which seems unlikely at 25c level?)





Is this just a sick run of variance or something? cant really understand it, i took a week off to study my game but still seem to be just breaking even, or or only slight gains, when i was crushing it weeks previously :/

its probably variance, i was grinding these last night as well and I ran good and bad at the same time.

what I mean by this is my AA got cracked 4 times in a row (not exaggerating)
but my small pocket pairs kept cracking QQ+ so i dont even know what to expect anymore in these MTTs

Its most likely to be variance. Earlier in the thread you posted you had over 100% ROI, which even at the quarters is unlikely so it seem like variance would bring that down. I did like 500 of them (I know, small sample size) and I was running like ~70% when 14-20 tabling. When you think you've got a good grasp of the 45-man tourneys go to the dollars, as they really aren't that different.

Oh, and I highly doubt that people have reads of your plays. There are really only a handful of "regs" that float between those and the dollars.

yeah I see your point

had a good days grind today and a decent cash in a 10 cent MTT last night - $3+ won for placing 9th out of 4000 runners, back on the upswing and my roll is now approaching $100 again (with another $70 to come when my friend transfers some money he owes me)

so maybe's the time to move on up to the $1's.

Today I decided to try HEM after struggling to get PT3 working in the past.

Wow! What a difference it makes. I've only set it up currently for cash games and hopped onto some 2NL tables to get used to it and work out the best configuration. (and also to clear some VPP's needed to unlock a remaining portion of a bonus)

Only played 500 hands today, but its pretty sweet so far. Will have to set it up for SNG play too
