Yeah, I should research the other features starshelper offers. Anyway, converting stack sizes to bbs solved my biggest issue.

Bankroll at USD 648.40, and as long as it stays above USD 640, I´m gonna take 16nl shots everyday I play on peak times and tables seem good. Always 1x 16nl + 3x 5nl or 2x 16nl +2x 5nl to keep abi at safe levels and reduce the potential swings, while at the same time trying to get rid of some of my nitty tendencies. Rest of the day it will be the usual 4x 10nl.

Btw, I have to be feeling good and confident on the days I take shots.

Cheers

Hello, Fazendeiro.

Starshelper is great, I use it. But when I bought it, the pokerstars' client didn't have the option to convert stack to bb. Today I'd use only the software option if I didn't have starshelper.

About the youtube channel: that's a very good channel, I already follow them. But it's very advanced, therefore we should study it carefully.

Another youtube channel that I love is the Bodo's channel. He's an excellent player and an incredible guy. Unfortunately he deleted all the videos a few weeks ago saying that he needed to do this to sort out some personal matter, but will probably post videos and streming sometime again. He plays the basic theoretical strategy very well and has a very solid game.

GL doing your shots! I hope you play the basic strategy correctly and run well!

Good news about 16nl is that I have a big sample in a lot of the regs there, they seem to be mixing stakes just as I am. At 25nl I guess I´ll need the basic "gto" strategy completely ready, as 99% of the pool most likely will be unknowns, and I´m planning to even play without a hud for 20k hands or so once I get there. Another reason for waiting until I get 100 bis

Gonna keep checking that channel from time to time, to see if he decides to put new content or stream again in the future, thanks man!

That's great! GL!

I don't use a HUD. In my opinion, it isn't necessary for now, considering that we don't have enough sample on the villains to make mathematically respectable deviations from equilibrium. Due to lack of technical knowledge and statistical sampling, it is very dangerous for our deviations to be random and to harm us... Also, in my opinion, as we're learning the game, we should play only the theory for months (years?) in order to understand it correctly. After we really understand how the basic theoretical strategy should look like, and after we really understand how to deviate, we start to deviate a lot when we have mathematically reasons to.

GL again! Don't forget to follow your BRM strategy. You're right with it!

@Giovanni Dcs Yeah, while I have to say I rely more or less heavily on hud, I´m becoming a little bit better each day at doing the right interpretations and discarding "bad" info. Still make mistakes tho

For example, every day before playing I tell to myself I shouldn´t make wide adjustments based on hud info, esp to the looser/high variance side of the spectrum, yet today I made 2 big mistakes that have cost close to 2 stacks where part of the reason was using stats whose sample sizes were too small.

Btw, not running good atm. Gonna post the graph saturday, but 10nl still a slow, painful grind for me. Running below ev doesn´t help much, but as I said before, I ran so good, so many bis above ev at 5nl lately, and I´m already an experienced uNL player with 1.3M hands that I should really know it´s ridiculous to even mention this theme here. But I tilted (mildly) today, so I hope this is a good excuse for this pathetic paragraph.

Seriously, I played until it was too late, I was (am) tired, and I told before I wouldn´t do it. You guess I wasn´t playing my A-game tonight (or maybe even B), right? lol

Btw, it wasn´t really tilt, I recovered 10 secs after the worst hand, just frustration with myself (the mistake per se and for playing knowing I am almost falling asleep). In reality it was just not playing at the same standard I play during the day when I´m feeling great. One quick way to see that is how my redline goes close to even during the day and drops like a stone at night haha. Makes sense?

Only 2 serious goals for the next 2 days are: play 1k hands/day min, and don´t play when it´s too late at night.

Cheers

Makes total sense. You go into fit or fold mode and you don't think about every spot. You miss good bluff & thin value-bet spots that you would normally capitalize on.

Been putting in more volume, much more lately, notice it decreases variance some. New strategy. Cbet is around 50 for the last few sessions, so more at equilibrium. Red line is what is saving me from some bad beats (and I did tilt off the rest of my stack after a bad beat, though recovery came). Positive territory again.

You're doing good! There's nothing to be sad. As you said, you already have experience to know this kind of thing is mathematically expected. Just breath, be present and try to give you best decision one hand at time.

This thread is great! I'm going to do a big travel between January and February (I love to travel, I do it a lot!), and when I'm back I'm going to create my thread as well.

GL!

@Jiikyellerjofa exactly.

@FutureInsights mine is lower, 48 over last 100k hands My fold vs flop, turn and river cbets is also considerably lower than it used to be and considered to be optimal a few years ago, 41, 38 and 40 (I’d expect river folds a little bit more, but even at 5nl sizings changed, and I call more than gto vs aggro fish. On the down side, I might be calling more mw. Gonna investigate this in January as I want a bigger sample at a more meaningful sample, that is, 10nl ).

I’m going deeper into flop raises, both in polarized spots and merged. Interesting area, both from gto and exploitative. Finding the right sizings is so cool haha. Still studying but I think I got the broad theory understanding already. Now comes the practicing lol

@Giovanni Dcs I’ll definitely follow your thread. Also gonna make a new one, probably a permanent thread, who knows tyty

Simple GTO Trainer has a training pack for multi way pots. Haven't used it yet. Most of my hands are heads up (fast fold, 6 max, easy iso). But when deeper, and with implied odds, will call MW. Then, I revert to what I have learned, and live play scenarios, since those are mostly MW. That is where live play helps.

Almost 7bi down the last 5 days. Pretty hard to keep focused right now, since today is the day nothing works. Like, absolutely nothing, literally being destroyed haha. But it´s friday, gonna meet some mates in a few minutes and just forget about this f***** game and have some real fun

Not sure if I´m gonna play tomorrow, but will post results only after I decide what to do.

Had a bit of run bad at the lower level today. Ugh, was practicing new strat at 5nl, bad beat after bad beat (don't know the exact damage, but around 7 to 10 buy ins is right).

25nl better, where I play, these guys are weird. Its where most of the bots hang out. If I raise in early position with juicy amount, are you going to shove all in AQo from bb? I had AA. Someone called all in with 64s, 6 on flop, no draw, I had 88, hit 8 on river. Now, if they would only do this at the lower stakes.

Sometimes I forget how hard the swings can be when we put together lower winrates and aggressive games. Maybe completely avoiding the fun times might be the best approach. Playing No fold’em game where lots and lots of pots go mw one way or another, how is it possible to avoid huge variance? You guys remember when I told the # of mwp between 5nl and 10nl is almost the same, despite what I’m seeing everyday? It’s bc mornings are nitfest and it brings the avg down.

Last, as they say, winning is contagious and make us play better even in tougher spots. Losing is also contagious and make us play worse even in easier spots.

Anyway, downswings still make me lose confidence and I’ll have to spend considerable time in the lab to recheck my game.

As I said, I withdrew 200 usd, so I have about 36 bis for 10nl right now. I love to hate stars, but I have to admit their customer service, at least for small cashouts (and a few other things) is still very good. Though with the chests getting worse everyday, they deserve this, and I’ll keep removing all excess cash every once in a while. Since it seems most stars reps are being fired, hopefully no one will read this, and the doomswitch won’t last too much hands.

About this doomswitch talk, j/k.

Or maybe not.

Lol I say a lot of bs when I’m tilted haha I hope you guys can just ignore my last few posts and let’s move on

So I’m definitely considering adjusting my game in 2 ways, specifically for 10nl:

1) Tighter from earlier, a little looser from CO/BTN. I talked about this one before. It’s exploitative for the “fun” hours, in reg infested games I’ll probably just revert to snowie pre mode.

2) I definitely should play tighter mw (I said this many times) and when passive guys show they want to build massive pots (exploitatively also).

2 seems my biggest leak.

Cheers

And... still losing. Interestingly, w$sd greater than 60% during this ds and most of my losses are coming from nsd vs fish. And when I think I´m being a nit and overfolding and try to bluffcatch the aggrodonks (af greater than 3.0, 50% agg otr or more etc) they always have the nuts. This game is impossible to beat these last few days.

Maybe I should begin learning the limp 30%+ no raise strat from now on. I you can´t win vs them, join them

Yeah, and I’m too stubborn to give up after the 1000000th setback lol.

It amazes me how a lot of the 10nl fun players can play atrociously pre, yet play quite good postflop and just run over me (and maybe others too lol). Reminds me of those old shows like HSP, Sam Farha destroying the nits haha, then Dwan playing looser than your typical fish etc.

So, fish at 10nl ARE better than our typical 2nl/5nl donks, and there’s no way I’ll ever beat this crazy stake unless I either find a way to play vs them (one counterintuitive idea that crossed my mind was loosening up actually) or just accept player types should be irrelevant and gto is the way to go.

HHs coming next few days poker friends

These hands are from yesterday. Frustration levels were already very high, and I was bypassing a lot of the stuff I usually pay attention while playing (translating to common language, D-game and I was misplaying a lot of spots ). Anyway, while I was on tilt during some of them, none of these HHs are a walk in the park (to me), and most of them gave me trouble one way or another, so feedback with explanation if possible will be hugely appreciated. Can give you reads from my HUD if you like, just mention the hand #.
