i curious because your january volume 80K hands.its very good effort if with 4 tables on bovada.

thanks for answer and gl.
I think I've been averaging around 30 hours per week or a little less. I tell myself I am going to play more every month, but I've been having some trouble putting in too many hours while still playing well, doing the things I hope to in my non-poker life, and keeping my sanity (and my girlfriend's...). I think 35 hours might be a good goal for me.

I've been playing around 30k hands per month of Bovada and the rest of the hands have been mostly on Merge. I wouldn't really recommend anyone play on this site as I've been waiting 3 months now for my first cash out. I've been playing a bit on BetOnline recently, but the software is really tilting and I time out every other hand. If anyone has any other recommendations for sites that cater to Americans and actually pay people, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Took a different path after black friday. Jumped into trading. Crazy it's already been 4 years.

I play a little poker on the new jersey regulated sites when I'm there visiting family there

GL OP, fun start and nice results.

Fedor Holz has a blog (Don't think im able to link) and one of his entries is "My top 5 books".

There are some good ones suggested, perhaps worth a look.

Been reading exclusively nonfiction so far this year, but I think I'll change it up soon. Both of these sound pretty cool. Thanks!

Good for you! I wish I knew what I was going to do next... Poker has been pretty good to me, but I'd like to be doing something else in the next few years.

Had a pretty good June. Though now 20k under EV on the year so far, which is a bit frustrating. I've got a couple more weeks of grinding before I head off to Europe for a month with my girlfriend. I'll be way behind schedule for the arbitrary monetary goal I set for myself when I get back, but it's all good. If anyone is gonna be in Rome or Florence in late July or in Paris in early August and wants to grab a drink or something, hit me up!

Winnings:

Pretty sure villain folds a fair amount of better hands here. Especially considering this was on merge and up until recently 3/6 was the highest stake on the site. (Decent chance villain gives me more credit than he should given how big the pot would be.) AK would be a much better bluff though I guess.

Sigh... Lost a few buyins to start the month and then my hard drive died and I couldn't grind for a week. And my last back up is from February, so I don't have any of my recent hands. Pretty frustrating... (I'm an idiot for not backing my stuff up more often.)

Thinking I might focus more on live poker when I get back, but who knows. I get bored of live pretty quickly. We shall see.

Anyway, happy summer everyone!

5/10 had just been added as the highest stake on Merge a few weeks before. I thought villain would think I was really value heavy with the river check/shove line. While I think check/shove would have shown a profit with Ax, I think thought my hand was a more profitable call.

Book update:

Finished Chaos: Making a New Science and really enjoyed it. It's not super hard to read for the non math-types. I'd try to provide some sort of summary, but I wouldn't do it justice.

Finished Moral Letter to Lucilius (Seneca) and also really liked it. Pretty amazing how much of the content is still relevant today. I did find myself losing focus on some of the longer, more abstract chapters toward the end of the book though.

Finished Original Strength (TY Mike1270). I started doing a lot of crawling around and segmented rolls. I can't say it definitely helped, but I'm feeling a lot better than I was at the beginning of the year.

Started reading Pavel Tsatsouline's book The Naked Warrior after listening to his podcast on Tim Ferriss' blog. It's all about bodyweight training for strength, which may come in handy for my next month of traveling. There's good content in there, but it could probably all be fit into a ten page packet. No need for a big (and pricey) book.

I've been reading Thinking Fast and Slow with my girlfriend. It's super interesting. Thanks pokerarb and WillowUfgood!

And finally, I restarted reading Crimes Against Logic. It's a pretty fun and quick read. I make myself read a few pages every time I'm on the toilet.

I don't really play BetOnline these days. Bovada is anonymous. I do what I think I can get away with. I play pretty active for the most part.

Thanks! I put a decent amount of effort into some of those posts. I've always felt like posting strat was +EV for me. It helps to put one's thoughts into writing.

I'm playing poker in Connecticut right now.
