Hi all,

Im mastermindgames and i'm a recreational player from Europe and Im going to beat the 200NL games for a fair amount (3bb/100) by the end of 2015 to reach this goal im gonna have to start from the bottom..!!!

The reason i'm gonna have this threath is to keep myself accountable and i'm a firm believer anybody, ''yes anybody'' can reach the 200NL stakes and be a winner if you work hard and i'm over my job at a bank/pension there are just to many rules to live by in any 9 to 5 job IMO like taxes are just way too high 36,5% to 52% ...so not a good outlook to keep me motivated for reaching a higher spot within this banking firm.
I am only gonna have volume goals first as I believe this is the most important goal for reachin the higher stakes, if i don't beat or even lose at a stake im gonna keep playing for 50k hands more at the same stake till I beat it!

2015goals
bankroll start: $100
keep a minimum of 50buyins per stake.
move up a stake after 50k hands and minimum winrate of 3bb/100
reach 200NL by the end of 2015
stop working fulltime if I beat 50NL for 3bb/100
dont cashout any money before winning @ 50NL for 3bb/100
reveal screenname after beating 200NL for 3bb/100
play mostly 3 or 4 tables zoom 6max.

January goals
play 75k hands
move up to 5NL when beating 2NL for 3bb/100 for 50k hands

Don't watch any training videos for now(when I reached 25NL i'm gonna start watching training vids) and keep working 40hours at my job till I beat the 50NL stakes.

that's it for now i'm gonna post a graph every week! and maybe post some hands if i'm confused.
Next post with graph will be saturday night and for january every saturday night.

Happy new year! and have a great 2015 everybody!

Solid goals mate, pretty similar to mine, so will be follow for sure

my only critics is that if you are able to deposit a bit more and you are not a complete newbie at the game, you should start at 10nl (2nl is such a waste of time imo and except if you are not living in siberia or some african village i dont see how your hourly can match any reasonable hourly at a normal job, besides you are not learning anything there )

thx Replique, I will folow ur thread too so how it goes in 2015

the reason I start at 2NL is so I can experience some swings with meaningless money and see how my mental game is, furthermore If i wanted to make a reasonable hourly I would start from 25NL :P but I understand your point though!!GL i'm trying to move up fairly quickly too hopefully every month till 25NL...

So the 2nd week is over, i'm not too happy because I'm running a bit behind on my target of 19k hands total for the month so i'm gonna need to step it up a bit for next week!!
Games where good not too much trouble for now.

here's a graph of this week.

Nice graphs to start the challenge. How're you finding 2nl so far? Seems to be fairly variance-free results so far. Sticking to just a tight aggressive max-value hands, no bluffing strategy for success? GL.

Hi flotothariva, i'm playing very loose like 32/30/7 as I believe in the 2NL playerpool people are playing way too tight!!

When I move up i'm sure im gonna play a bit tighter though, furthermore I do bluff here and there mostly against regs and with deeper stacks too but overall I don't have a lot of reads as the player pool is very big so i'm playing the board a lot too.

It seems a lot of 2nl grinders are widening their ranges a lot at 2nl. I'm finding this strategy is sub-optimal as my thinner valuebets are getting called down too often thus causing my blueline to consistently slope down and conversely my redline always positive from trying to barrel good boards and strong aggression prior to the river.
Can you post your graph with blue and red lines included at all?

yeah no problem, too be honest I don't know alot about blue/red lines I just try to have a positive green line
u should bluff the right opponent I think some do fold rivers too much.

Thanks for the graph Mastermindgames.
Yea meale, I agree the green line is all that matters in the end. I'm just trying to find ways to make mine positive at the moment.. If focusing on SD winnings with less pre-SD aggression will change my lines and thus winnings, I'm keen to adjust to that goal.
