Hi guys,

I've been playing the micros for the last years(for fun and for the ocasional cashout) but never seriously tried to improve my game. This year a decided to give it a shot at becoming a good thinking player. I'll be playing part-time because I'm taking a cooking course. Never the less I expect to dedicate at least 4-5 hours daily(more on weekends) to study/play.
I've started the year with arround 30$ at NL2 and currently at 260$ish.

This is my poker setup:

Right now I'm at NL10 and for the first time feeling that I can easily beat it.

This is my graph so far:

Goals for 2014:

[ ] Not only read but really study all my poker books(already on it);

-Dynamic Full Ring Poker, by James "SplitSuit" Sweeney;
-Building a BankRoll, by Pawel "Verneer" Nazarewicz;
-The Math Of Hold'Em, by Collin Moshman & Douglas Zare;
-Applications of No-Limit Hold'Em, by Matthew Janda(just ordered)

[ ] Watch all the training movies I've dowloaded from DragTheBar and get a new subscription;

[ ] Play less than 12 tables at the same time;

[ ] Update this thread frequently;

[ ] Beat NL50 for > 1bb/100hands by the end of the year;

I'll use this thread as a motivation to continue my poker evolution and to share hands, updates...

Johnny: TY, playing only FR.

I'm playing two sessions a day, one in the morning and the second at night. Just ended todays grind. The first session whent well, felt really sharp all the time. The second was not so good, was really tired and didn't made the best decisions so decided to end the day a bit erlier. I guess it was the right thing to do.
Didn't came across any particularly interesting hand...

Today's graph:

Today I'll just rest and tomorrow will try to put some more hours playing.

Just ended my first session. Had one hand that made me think...I guess it was a high variance call but the villain, after my turn check, whent all in so fast, it smelled kind of fishy...

I was because I had just made the transition from NL5 to NL10, so decided to start with 60/70 big blinds but now I'm playing with 100bb.

Sasori TY man, about the avatar I understand you...it's just so difficult to get any reads out of it =D

TY pitapita

Today was only able to play one session, the morning one. It went alright, the defining hand was KK against a fish that had just lost a big hand, I put him all in pre(vs is open of 1€) and was expecting a call with any two cards but he actualy called me with AK...no A on the board =D finally had a day running above EV.

Todays graph:

Tomorrow I'll play my normal two sessions and saturday(or maybe tomorrow night) I will review this month overall and define some goals for february.

So yesterday was drinking night and for that reason today I'm not going to play and will make my first

Monthly Review:

For this month I had decided to take things slowly and my goals were just to get to a 200$ BR and be playing NL10 by now...
I outdone that and have been playing NL10 for more than a week, getting my BR up to 341$ + 28$ in Rake Back (witch I'm saving to cashout in the summer).

Total profit for the month: 294.5$

Profit after starting this thread(18/01/14): 234$

January graph:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February Goals:

Tomorrow I'll start my February grind and will start to add some NL16 tables(juicy ones);

------------------Studying vs Playing------------------
----------------------------|-----------------------------
+1hour/day (+30hours total) | +2hours/day (+60hours total)

I'll split my studying time between reading, watching videos, analyzing hands, 2plus2 and studying my own game. I hope to be able to put in much more volume than what I set for this month but it will depend on several things...

This is what it looks like:

Just started to write everything down to make it easier.

If I get to a 550$ BR this month I'll start to add one NL25 table per every +50$ I make.

And that's it, let's hope it all goes as planed.

GL on February to everyone and see you at the tables!

So this month had a really bumpy start...yesterday still was kind of hangovered (hadn't drink for months...) so had alot of mood swings and played bad for the most part. Today it all changed and i got into this big heater and runned/played really good (last month got 9 buy ins under EV in NL10).
Has I had planed I started to play some NL16 witch is really not that diferent from NL10, sometimes I even find it to be more fishy...

Hand:

Villain with 130bb is a 19/13 reg with 1.3AF, 29 Foldvs3Bet and 70 FoldvsCbet (over 1.4k hands)
Villain with 26bb is a 83/17 fish (over 18 hands)

MP1: $6.58
MP2: $14.05
Hero (CO): $10.00
BTN: $10.63
SB: $4.00
BB: $2.72
UTG: $3.95
UTG+1: $15.12
UTG+2: $13.28

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is CO with A K
2 folds, UTG+2 raises to $0.30, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.90, 2 folds, BB calls $0.80, UTG+2 calls $0.60

Flop: ($2.75) 7 5 A (3 players)
BB checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $1.82 all in, UTG+2 calls $2

Turn: ($8.57) 6 (3 players - 1 is all in)
UTG+2 checks, Hero checks

River: ($8.57) 3 (3 players - 1 is all in)
UTG+2 bets $1, Hero calls $1

Final Pot: $10.57
Hero shows A K (a pair of Aces - King kicker)
BB mucks J 7
UTG+2 shows A 9 (a pair of Aces)
Hero wins $2.25
Hero wins $7.84
(Rake: $0.48)

So pre flop I 3bet with AK witch seems fine vs a player that doesnt like to fold vs3bet, I knew he would continue with lots of hands that I'm beating both the fish and the reg call.
I Cbet the flop(enough to put the fish all in) after getting two checks and both call.
Now I'm getting kind of worried because he folds alot vs Cbet and the flop got really drawy.
In the turn I just check because I was convinced that he had me beated...
On the river I tough that I was making a crying call to a really small VB. In the end it felt like a really weird hand...

Weakend graph:

Now I'll probably just make a doobie and relax maybe play some NL2 for fun.

Hi guys,

last week I started my driving lessons so didn't really had much time to play and the little I played went awfull, getting really unluky...

Just ended this weekend grind, heres the graph:

Really happy with my non showdown winnings! Played NL10/NL16 and a few NL25. Feeling really comfortable in NL16. I think I'll be playing NL25 "comfortably" by the end of this month (I hope ).

Since my last uptade Ive been playing "quite a bit" (as much as possible) and have really been trying to work on my red line, whitch as got me in some trouble but now its getting better.

This is my graph from day 10 till today (Finally enjoying a little heater ):

I'm still playing NL10 and NL16 and just got my lifetime NL10 earnings breakeven, I was down 330. Today ended the day with a 530$ BR so I guess I'm almost starting my NL25 jorney...I don't know if I'm really ready for it, for what I've seen players are much more competent so I'm thinking on waiting till I get to 600$ to add some buffer.

This month I really want to achieve goldstar to get more juice since now I'm doing quite a bit more daily rake.

In the hand above i'd bet slightly bigger on flop and shove turn. You're letting him draw for free on a very wet board.

Congrats on the success so far! Looks like you're crushing!

TY DontStep.

About the hand, maybe I should have betted bigger on the flop but on the turn agains a reg that dont folds alot to cbets and as a fairly low AF I was convinced he had something like set/two pair/flush draw or a straigh draw that got completed on the turn and against that range my hand is really only a SDV hand and thats why I was happy to just check it till the end.
