Hi guys, im an 26 year old with a full time 9-5 job with a great interest in poker. Started playing years ago but never really devoted fully into it. I would say i was a break even and maybe a slightly profitable player overall. The casino where i lived rakes incredibly stupid so its either the occasional online MTT or 1-2 home game for me.
With that being said, im earning a comfortable income and do not need to absolutely crush poker to improve my life. I do however have a bad or maybe good habit of being deeply troubled by i hand where i either misplayed or got outplayed. With a full time job, i am only able to play 1-2 times a week and since the home games are ******edly soft, i dont get to learn much from it. I mean, its cool to make some almost everytime i go play(47/58 this year) but i really wanna improve and those games wont do it.
Ive always thought that stars 5-25NL were hard when i was a beginner and even after many books and videos subscribed, i was barely breaking. And thats why i decided this will be a good way for me to really improve(The fact that i can play 1-2 hrs short sessions after work also contributes).
So yeah, ill be posting my results after sessions and spots where im confused.(Which is really the point of this thread) Ill save you the agony from 2NL, was able to beat it convincingly at 20BB/100 over 8k hands and moved to 5NL.

Played okayish, but ran terrible in terms of EV. My EVAdj is at 14bb/100 which is a little better than the 12 bb/100 i was aiming for. Hope the trend of running 5 BIs under EV doesnt stick(Happend at start of 2nl too).
Some hands that im confused with
V is 26/16/0 over 56 hands, just joined table. CO is the resident fish. Please disregard the 2BB bet on the river, my hotkey was messed up. Idk what to make of this hand. KK/A4/67 seems unlikely to call 2 streets. I think the only hands that i beat was AKcc but more often than not, this is a slowplayed 33/22.
Turn: ($1.70) K (3 players)
Hero bets $0.90, CO calls $0.90, BTN calls $0.90
River: ($4.40) 5 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.10, CO calls $0.03 and is all-in, BTN raises to $2.77, Hero folds
Spoiler:
Results: $4.63 pot ($0.19 rake)
Final Board: 3 2 J K 5
CO showed A A and won $4.30 ($2.87 net)
BTN showed J Q and won $0.14 (-$1.36 net)
Hero mucked J K and lost (-$1.50 net)
I should not even have called the turn. Even after the flop raise, i just cant find any hands that i can beat. thoughts?
3) vs reggish player, not much hands on him
I think i bloody butchered this hand. Should have bet the turn, maybe some Qx or hh that might not have bet the river if i had bet the turn. Dunno why i couldnt call the river too.
Played well and run pretty well also today. Had a huge 6 BI downswing in the middle of it but i managed to work myself back.
One thign im trying to decide on is if i should continue playing 8-12 tables. At 5 NL, i can just value bet and get away with it. Doubt anyone at this level can adjust or exploit just yet and even the regs have no clue most of the time. In fact, i made some light call down and 4bets because i thought these regs might be making a play, most of them turned out to be wrong.
Obv playing more tables and more hands = quicker proft. As long as my bb/100 stays above 10, i dont mind adding on more tables. However, im here to improve my game and making 2 second decisions isnt helping much. Should i continue playing 12 tables or just focus on 4?

I should be able to move up to NL 10 now, but i dont think i want 30-40% of my roll on the tables at one time. Gonna see if i either cut back on tables or build a bigger roll first.
PS: Need abit of help, i tagged alot of hands today on PT4 but when i went to "Play Poker". Select ''review'' and then all hands, nothing came up. Its like i never tagged them, anyone knows?
expect ~30bi swings and running like 20 bi below ev as normal. there have been people running 200 bi below ev. dont undeestimate variance my friend
GL anyway!!
and btw stating a winrate after a few thousand hands.. well that wont work
100k hand breakeven stretches and downswings over a few 10k hands cann easily appear

Duly noted, hope that doesnt happen too often though.

Confirmed fish on heater.
BR is now at 295+25
I also cleared some deposit bonus, have a bunch of FPPs i might play some STTs on and unlocked 1 stellar already. Not sure if this is a right time for some NL10. 30 BI sounds fine but if i play up to 8 tables, one bad downswing can hurt.
I have to stop doing this. V is a reg and he is never raising the river without the nuts. Most of the time, i just think 39 BB is nothing compared to what ia lready put it and its worth to see if hes on air. But no, just no. A set would have just flat my river raise IMO and theres nothing else that i beat that will play like he did.
I would raise and gii ott.
running into the higher straight is just **** that happens, he can have sets, if you gii ott he may even hava a combodraw or two pair, whatever stuff. remember, most people at nl5 wont give a **** about board structure etc. they just think "oh, I have a set, so I gii"
as played, dont fold river.
still GL!, seems like u are beating nl5 pretty well!
Decided to take a shot at NL 10 today after my amazing 20 BI run at NL 5. Started with 8 tables and increased to 12. Needless to say, things didnt go too well even though its only 1k+ hands. I played terrible in a couple of spots.
V is a 28/12/0 reg.
Everyday i tell myself not to slowplay hands. Its just a frekaing bad habit that stuck on from live home games against fish that i know loves to bluff and cant accept ur beat and check back. Everytime i play a session, i make the same damn mistake. got pretty tilted after this and lost a chunk on the other tables. Should have raised flop, not sure if he will come but i shld have made it 2.75X at least on the flop. Turn is argubly a fold but i guess i put him on Ax
Against reg, BvB. A little puzzled by the turn check so i thought he might have given up or have little SDV/ace hit my range. Snap called the river without thinking much. After the hand i typed ??weird and he responded that he didnt put me on a pair and wanted me to bluff turn. Not sure how i should adjust here? This guy is literally on half my tables. I took a big pot against him with QQ on a low card rainbow flop. He spaz shove with JJ and i almost folded.
Im very surprised at how this turn out, i thought for sure the reg has a set here maybe at the minimum AK. Seems like a close call to me but cant be sure. I might have to stove it on my CPU later(Laptop), any ideas?
Preflop: Hero is CO with A J
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, BTN calls $0.15, SB folds, BB raises to $0.45, Hero calls $0.30, BTN calls $0.30

BB checks, Hero bets $0.90, BTN calls $0.90, BB raises to $1.80, Hero calls $0.90, BTN calls $0.90
Turn: ($6.77) 8 (3 players)
BB bets $3.40 and is all-in, Hero calls $3.40, BTN folds
River: ($13.57) 5 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Spoiler:
Results: $13.57 pot ($0.56 rake)
Final Board: T 9 K 8 5
BTN mucked and lost (-$2.25 net)
BB showed K Q and won $13.01 ($7.36 net)
Hero showed A J and lost (-$5.65 net)
Is it okay to fire on the turn again or better to just give up? Im getting confused with alot of AQ/AK or 88-1010 type of hands where getting value seems to be too thin and C/F looks too much like a nit and possible exploitable. I had wanted to fire again on the river to fold out flush draws or even TPWK but this seems to be an overall losing play in the long run?
Not sure if correct fold here but i can live with it, V is 23/15/6
Preflop: Hero is BB with Q Q
2 folds, BTN raises to $0.30, SB folds, Hero raises to $0.80, BTN raises to $2.20, Hero raises to $4.60, BTN raises to $10.96, Hero folds
Spoiler:
Results: $9.25 pot
BTN mucked and won $9.25 ($4.65 net)
Against reg. Dont udnerstand his river call or why he doesnt raise the turn. Not too upset about it cos theres alot of AQ/AK/FD in his range that i can bet for value on the river.
