Some of you may know that I've been working to turn 1k into 100k, while that challenge is still in effect, I need to get out of my current job, I'm just not capable of working a regular job with regular hours, so I'm going to become a 5k a month SNG pro.

I have a process I'm going to use to make this happen, sadly I'm not gonna do this over night.

Ok this is how it's gonna go.

From 9-30-14 until 10-17-14
I'm going to play 8 hours a day on my days off averaging 30$ an hour.

from 10-18-14 to 11-9-14
I'm going to take vacation days from work and make sure I can play 40 hours a week making a minimum of $1,250.00 a week.

From 11-10-14 until 01-20-15
I'm going to take some time off work try to in 24 hours+ a week making sure to make atleast $30.00 an hour.

from 01-21-15 until 03-01-15
I'm going to drop down to officially part time at work only working 2-3 days a week and putting in 40 hours a week making at least $1,250.00 a week.

03-02-15
At this point assuming everything has gone correctly and I've made my goals atleast 90% of the time I'm going to quit my job and become a full time poker pro.

Goals

I have a couple of big goals while I'm working on this.

1) Obviously my biggest goal is to grow my bankroll. But I also have about 5k in debt I'd like to get completely paid off before I become a full time pro

2) at $30 and hour or 5k a month that's only 60k a year, while this is double what I'm currently making and 3x as much as I made last year, I'm not about to settle at it. My girlfriend is deploying in Feb. I'd like to be making 10k-15 a month before she gets back in a year.


I'm sure I'll think of more goals before then but that's all I got for now guys.

I'm not limiting myself I'm going to sit down and play what ever SNG's there are going on at the site I play on, could be anything from 7+.70 to 100 dollar SNG I'm very confident in my playing ability and I'm going to prove it completely to myself and every one else over these next couple of months. I am going to mainly focus on the 20 and 30 dollar SNGs

Well My work is screwing me on my check and the bank put a hold on the deposit so I can't make a deposit until Friday Only good news is I will be making a deposit Friday morning so I'll be able to play Friday night and all weekend my plan is to make atleast $500 this weekend playing SNG

Well deposit was made, first session tomorrow morning. Changing my life for the better, the journey begins.

I have noticed you are not putting by any time for study? Is this because you feel your game is already sharp enough to consistently crush regular infested $100 SNG'S or because you do not advocate it?

I feel that your going to need to put some time by as part of your schedule for learning and improving, if you have done PLENTY of studying before then this will not be so much of a necessity at the lower stakes SNG'S however if your planning to play as high as $100 SNG''S and everything in between you are going to need to get your game to a higher standard.

I have no idea as to your poker back ground but as it stands, the $100 SNG regs are not the best but they definitely are decent and it is going to be very hard to exploit them without focused studying, and trust me there will be plenty of regulars at that level and everything in between.

I will be studying regularly I didn't put a "dedicated" time but I study at work usually 2 hours or so a night

playing some SNG's right now hitting nothing but regs bad hours to try to find fish lol

Hey Randal, good luck man, really my last chance here to do something that isn't a 9-5 job or in my case 11pm to 7 am. Failure is not an option here although after day 1 i'm down $50 I think it's just because I tried to set a daily amount I had to make and that's whats killing me, I think if I just go and play I should do alot better

So which SNG buy in limits will you be playing predominantly OP?

Ah I understand now, I was under the impression from your OP that you would be playing from $3.50 up to $100 from the get go, which is insane, but you have cleared it up and two hours of study time a day is definitely enough to beat these lower buy ins.

Oh god no I plan to work my way up to the high buy ins

So I have a question, it has been something I have been thinking about since I lost 50 dollars in my first session since I started this.

First I recently switched sites from BOL to Bovada, I did this because of the constant problems I hear about people cashing out large amounts and other issues that I just wanted to avoid. On BOL I made my money playing SNG, I enjoy SNG, and I believe I am a decent SNG player, and my numbers back this, I went from $50 to 123.00 playing small SNG's in a matter of 2 days, this isn't by any means amazing, but I more than double my deposit, and I was profitable.

It looked like this.

I was playing at all times of the day usually 3-5 SNG's a session.

I played early yesterday morning from about 8am to 11:30 am

I lost every SNG i played busting on the bubble three times.

I lost $50.00 in a matter of a few hours and played a small SNG that night before work and won back like $4.50


So my question is why did this happen to me?

I have a couple theories,

1. I was playing during non peak hours and I was just up against tougher competition.

2. Bovada has better players than BOL and less fish.

3. I was unable to play anything but FR's for a week waiting for my withdraw and I got impatient and pushed myself to hard to make my goals, $120.00 in 4 hours, and I just played like an idiot against decent players. (I think this is most likely but I would like your thoughts on the other two options.)

I can't get over how mad I am about my morning session, I can't even remember the last time I had a session that ended that far negative usually my bad days im either even or just above or below even

well 3.5 hours into my shift about to go on break started reading Caro's Most Profitable Hold'em Advice tonight now studying some high stakes might play some cheap SNG's when i get off

well I think I've finally put my horrible day 1 behind me. Still undecided if I'm gonna play when I get off work I may try a 1.10 sng maybe I can find a 6 max or something that pays decent idk i guess we will see. really deep down inside I wanna go play a 3.30 triple up game and try ti win some of the money back I lost but playing like that is what got me in this hole. Well time to lean back kick my feet up listen to some music and forget about poker for the next 3 hours

lol if I hadn't got it on sale for 3 bucks I'd say it was a waste of money but for 3 dollars I have added to my tool box and you never know when I may pull out something from this book.....but honestly I agree
