@AK hand, Pretty standard, just c/f these and really hammer when you hit your A or K on flop, dont be discouraged when you miss flop it happens 80% of the time

@TheRest, Just unlucky, keep making good plays vbet like mad when your hitting your hands

Well that was a MAMMOTH session. At one point as you know from above I was -$112, breaking into tiny little pieces and each of those tiny little pieces was on fire. I stuck at it though and managed to get back to -$41 which is +$71 over where I was. Again, I didnt change anything in my play, I just stopped getting beaten with the bad luck stick. Current stats are:

                  fpp: 913.42
                  vpp: 1260 (5000)
                  bonus: 2615/2720
                  roll: 909.53
                  hands: 9878

I think what I will do tomorrow, is watch videos and read ONLY in the morning until 2pm or maybe later even...4pm. And then hit the tables. I just seem to do better later in the day, dunno why. I mean, luck doesnt know what time it is, does it?

Im pretty pleased that I managed to keep my head together enoguh to play through this 11BI downswing. I can only imagine how hard it is for high stakes players losing hundreds of thousands of dollars of a long period of time despite playing great - like Tom Dwan vs Antonius in the Aussie Million invite HU match where he gets done for liek $600k after starting with the ebst hand and gettign sucked pretty much every time. What a guy he is. I want to be ICE, just like him instead of filling this thread with me ceying like a little girl.

One of my big goals in poker is to understand when a hand is interesting and actualyl worth consideration/discussion. Any thoughts from you guys on this would be welcome.

Let me go make a picture to stick in here of todays play...

                  here we go:

By the way, the ev is *just* over $0 so it just goes to show

More crazyness in about 5 hours time !

                  @younguns87

Flat the SB raise vs some guy who has been open raising 22% from the SB with the intention of taking it away later on. I have a suited ace and position so I think calling is fine.

flop top pair + NFD so not going away for less than half pot bet

when he checks the turn he is saying he doesnt have much of anything. I bet for value and as a semi bluff. there are lots of worse hands that can call me, mostly Ax and worse flush draws/pairs.

When he check raises, I think he's full of ****. In a small sample size (30 hands) he has already c/r twice on the flop and twice on the turn His size is all wrong too. I wanted to shove right there but couldnt quite pull the trigger (while there was still a chance of the reassuring flush card or another 7 or ace coming in). I know that this is something I have to work on.

On the river I have to put in $5 to get $15, 3:1 which is an easy call since I only need to be ahead of him ~25% of the time to make a profit.

                  Your thoughts please?

If you think he's betting the river with air aswell calling the turn would be okay, otherwise shoving is good.

I think its very hard for him to not shove the river after putting half his stack in, and if he doesnt, I will 100% of the time as I think I'll be way ahead and he is forced to make the call because of the odds. One way or another once he c/r the turn - it's all going in the middle.

Preflop and flop are fine, I don't think I'm ever folding on this flop even of he pots it.

Turn: I see what your saying, bet size is really weird for him which kinda throws me off, I think the turn is jam or fold though as you suggested

River: if you call turn gotta call river as its a blank, but what's your play if like a non heart 10+ comes out? Gross spot.

Just an interesting hand and was wondering thought process behind it

I love this series. Don't be discouraged. Keep getting it in good + volume = $$$

It's definitely not a boring thread, so don't give up. I'm rooting for you! You're taking some brutal beats and running like a one-legged camel, but you sure seem to have the right mentality and mindset (which is more than a lot of players can say), so you're not in much danger of monkey tilting.

                  GL GL!

River: if you call turn gotta call river as its a blank, but what's your play if like a non heart 10+ comes out? Gross spot.

Just an interesting hand and was wondering thought process behind it
even if a non heart T+ comes out - I *have* to call since I have got most of my stack in already - and should have jammed the turn anyway. Is it really likely that he has ever played this way with some non-queen overcard? like a random ace and an ace comes on the river, possibly but *so* unlikely that it would have no effect on my calling.

@alphabetsoup - really appreciate it mate sticking to my plan today, reading loads of poker posts before getting on tonight/this afternoon. I am tired of reading beginners questions and goals and challenges now so Im moving onto the nl/pl thread where hands are discussed - that **** is golden.

re: g&c forum, I'm almost, but not quite yet getting to the point with the goals and challenges threads where I can spot the ones that are doomed to failure immediately. i think it might be fun to just post DOOMED or NOT DOOMED on each thread as it appears and see how many i get right "I are aggressive BRM so playung 50nl with my $238.43 roll, my goal is $45, 826 by the end of April." for instance would get a DOOMED post. Maybe a bit more subtle than that so I dont get banned or something there are a LOT of posts like this right? people make sensible suggestions but they are all wasted effort. LoL

In a bit! moff to troll some people

Ok. Have been reading 2+2 all day. Had a 45 minute nap before dinner too. A couple interesting things came up in this forum:

                  http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/69...-stakes-pl-nl/

                  and particularly these two threads:

                  http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/69...l-9ts-1113291/

                  and

                  http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/69...p-nfd-1113165/

I really *really* need to understand why you should do what the replies say you should do as this is beyond my current poker knowledge and will probably make me a MUCH more profitable player.

Im going to go and hit the tables now, HAVE IT YOU MUGS!!
