Like walking up the stairs of a mental hospital, it appears ******ation increases at higher levels
Now that a sustainable and long term winrate at NL50 has been ACHIEVED I will continue to seek glory at the higher limits until I either beat the game and become Piosolver or suffer the fate of Icarus
Hats off to you. I basically only opened this thread so I could make some remark about how "old school pros suck".
I didn´t expect those results at all.
Then again, games are super juicy right now due to "social distancing", so I´m guessing you wouldn´t have beaten NL50 4 months ago lol.

yea boOyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy - glad some of the old MSNL gang is still around. I really haven't thought about cards or 2+2 for ~10 years so I've been dying laughing reading back over some old MSNL threads and BBV stories. I've been gone to the real world far too long
lol wtf is your win rate actually even better than back in 2008?
Not quite, and I'm obv running quiiiiiiiite hot at this limit. This graph will get a little more realistic as I dropped 6 or 7 buyins over the last two days running into the top of ranges and punting stacks but ignition takes 24 hours so I don't have those HH yet.
It seems like there is no 100NL zoom on ignition so I guess I will just grind it out for a bit before I hit 200NL. Or Maybe I buy some monitors (I am grinding on my old school laptop) and split my roll up across some more sites so I can just play 8 or 10 regular tables.
I'm amazed at how much the game has changed and the quality of free content on youtube. I bought and read modern poker theory and am now working my way the the grinder's manual to shake the rust off. I was definitely a moderate winning reg at 2/4 and 3/6 back in the day for 5bb/100+ but I feel like most of us didn't think about a lot of this stuff correctly. I feel like BD equity from gutshots and FDs is (correctly) attributed more value, bet sizes down to 1/4 pot and frequently 1/3 pot, using overbets (especially on the turn) are all these "new" concepts that were not widespread at all. More likely I just sucked and the dudes crushing back then were already thinking like this?
Anyway - its fun to get back into this as I can't really work at all due to COVID-19 (I'm a dentist now). If work is slow for another few months, and it likely will be, I will probably keep moving up and buy a solver so I can really start diving in and not get wrecked at higher limits. Its a real balance, especially anonymous on ignition, for me to deviate between GTO and super exploitative play but it is fun to think about and of course fun to be back on the grind after stopping pretty much cold turkey after black friday
Preflop: Hero is BTN with K K

Variance monster found me and sent me into 50% monkey mode. Old me would have gone into 100% monkey mode so I am calling it progress. NL100 and NL200 sessions were frustrating as I watched the goons around me rake in chips
Looks like I still won't have work for another week or two so I will grind it back up and report back to my faithful railbird nation
I feel this. Literally exact same story. Although I started with $40 at NL2 and am playing NL10. I did the same thing with my initial bankroll run up 10 years ago. Started with 40 bucks.
I do not know how to insert a working image on this forum.
I'm sun running hard rn. My goals of earning $5 an hour are in my grasp and I only have to neglect time with my friends and my girlfriend to achieve it.
I need Poker friends tho. You wanna PM me and share discord details? I wouldn't mind sweating some sessions and chatting poker if you're into that sort of thing.
My man! I recognize your name/avatar too! Glad to see another oldie still around

Thanks chief. I put in about 5 hours a day in April. I have a VERY addictive personality and have really enjoyed getting back into poker after taking a decade off. I have a real job so this obviously won't continue after the quarantine ends but it is fun for now and I expect to continue playing at a low volume.

Good luck fellow grinder. I am an old man and don't even know what discord is. I will keep lone wolfing it for now but will maybe think sweat/chat/hand discussion once I get back up to the fun limits
Well boys thats it, we busto. I withdrew my initial deposit so I could chase losses guilt free and tilted off the rest at 1/2 and 2/5. I'm back to the real world, may my fellow grinders run well and prosper
Good night sweet prince, what is dentistry's gain is sh.t postings loss.
never count out a true sht poster
after my last post i did cash out my original deposit but the rest of my words were ALL A TRICK. Had about ~$450 left so I said I will use it to grind nl100 for this month... no NL100 rush on ignition so I'm playing regular tables
tell red baron im coming
skeety out
