definitely get rid of that red shadow and i would strongly recommend making it shorter as having that tall of a logo at the top of your page is going to push your actually blog too far down the page

I'm not a huge fan of the font since the "9" looks so weird. It's also usually best to have your url all on one line instead of cutting it into two lines.

Well that is where SEO comes into play. It isn't like people are going to type slayervfan into the url box, they are going to search it in a search engine. If his stars name is optimized well it wont make a difference what the actual URL is. So the catchiest/easiest option is far superior.

LTT is right and part of what I'm paying for is for the SEO service.....but also I truly believe my 2p2 handle, 'jdawg91' is more recognizable than my ps sn 'slayerv1fan.' There are randoms on my tables sometimes that I have NFI who they are that say stuff like 'i like your thread jdawg!,' so they clearly know who I am.

On top of that, many players think my sn is some twisted/weird way to spell ou 'slaveryfan'....and no, it's not intended to be slavery fan lol, actually is a play on 'charder30' and 'charder30fanobv' with my buddy slayerv1 who was the guy who owned the house I lived in when I was 19-20 in Vegas.

My website is continuing to slowly get built, working no filling in the content on it over the next week or so, I'm hoping it'll be completely set up by Jan 1 but not sure that will happen.

Meh, for SEO it will def be better to have whatever people are searching for in the actual URL. That isnt really debatable. I do think its likely jdawg is going to be the more popular search, but your argument isnt fully accurate.


Also, jdawg, just some general advice about getting this website done. You shouldnt be paying more than $100 for whatever you are getting as a wordpress blog + premium theme is def going to be enough. If you need more functionality, then there are plugins to do pretty much anything you need. You also shouldnt pay for SEO service for 3 reasons; 1, any term you could rank for [jdawg, slayerv1fan, etc] wont require much work at all as nobody else is really competing for that and its going to be clear that your site is the most relevant. 2, any other more general term you simply wont be able to rank for because affiliates have been fighting for the lucrative gambling terms for years. 3, anybody that could actually get you significant results would not be selling their services as they would be printing money in the affiliate industry.

I have absolutely no dog in this fight, but have setup stuff like this before and know it isnt anything complex. I know your hourly is high and when you arent playing poker you dont want to deal with this stuff, so hiring somebody to do it is smart, but even just googling around for "wordpress installation service" it seems like you can def get somebody to do all of this for <$100 and then a good looking theme may be $40 at themeforest. If you are just paying a couple hundred bucks, then whatever, not worth it to look into your other options, but if you are paying significantly more, then you absolutely should look elsewhere.

Id love to see an example of a blog made for $100 or less.

Wordpress takes 5 minutes to install and maybe an hour to get looking good. It may cost >$100 but that's because we techies know you'll pay it

Today was a pretty solid day, got to see my grandparents and also got to watch the pack beat the **** out of the titans (sun). Sampled a bunch of 'hometown' ales/beers with my dad at the restaurant; most of them had weird/bitter tastes but I like dark beer so I enjoyed it, my dad ended up only drinking like 1.5 of the 4 he got, so I had to tank those as well . Tried to get my mom to take pics of them all so i could post, but she wouldn't . #Fail


I've been thinking about it as I've been bored and OI the past 5 days in Illinois and I'm realizing more and more that it's more that I'm coming home for my parents and not for myself as I don't really talk to many people from back home anymore....I mean I moved to Vegas when I was 19 yrs old and I didn't go to college anywhere, most of my friends from back home have moved on. All good though, gotta give back to my parents after theyve given me most of what I have today.

Anyway, enough babbling for now, I'm really looking fwd to get back to Mexico on Jan 3 and having an awesome time with my buddy, and then starting the sicko grind on Jan 10. I've been thinking a bit more about 2013 goals and I don't think I'm going to set any 'real' yearly goals other than the # of hours I put in, my plans may change based on the state of the HS hypers, I'm ready and willing to make adjustments on the fly to keep my hourly/sanity at its peak

I was more trying to get across to the poster I quoted that his chosen url will be a better choice and he can be optimized for Slayerv1fan and related searches so he wont be losing much if people do in fact search for that.
