Lol, been flipping all year with mixed results. One long session in the grand scheme of things anyway. I feel like if I have come this close to my goal, I made it.

Biggest pot last night was KJ998dd on T96dd versus nfd+gutter, c/r to $1,200 fop, jammed $2,700 turn, ended up running it 2x and chopping. :/

After nice Christmas dinner with family and friends, quickly stuck $1,000 at 2/5, JJ ran into KK on 86223 and 88 on 678cc lost to 74cc all in otf. Finally got a seat at plo though, let’s play well and run it up!

Obvi unsure of pre-flop action, but has to be a mega -EV shove in 5 card by you?

…maybe against a reasonable range but not against this action v…I mean, he called with the naked nfd on the flop and nfd + gutter ott…I was printing.

Also note on the turn I was blocking the nut and second nut straights so it was less likely he had it. And even if he did I had outs. If he had the naked nuts on the flop I was way ahead as well.

BR challenge: $27,605 made, $2,395 to go with six days left in the year! 5 tables of plo runing tonight, yippie! Games have been way softer than normal lately too, lots of new faces, a very nice gift from Santa.

So far so good today, lost with a set early on to be stuck $800 but then won with two more of them. Transferred to a good action game, hopefully can keep running it up. Up around $1,000 so far. Playing patiently.

Gotta play another two or three hours then can call it a solid day’s work. (Even my mom is calling it “work” now, lol.)

All green today, liking my wardrobe lately. Maybe blue tomorrow.

Remaining grateful and humble and being a positive table presence as much as possible. I really feel like I’ve become an excellent live plo player after reviewing the past year’s results. Onwards and upwards!

Ended up around $2k, $468 away from my goal! Up almost $17k this month, stellar finish to the year so far, no doubt thanks to avoiding the big mixed game and running and playing well at plo.

Had a great dream last night I was battling one of my nemeses heads up and I thought I was bluffing with AA and the nut blocker in plo on a paired board and he called all in on the river but my hand was good anyway!

My day trading fellow poker player predicts a market downturn early next year...as I am in it for the long haul I am not that concerned but I know it's going to hurt when it happens anyway. Just won't panic and pull out, will keep dollar cost averaging through it and everything should turn out ok over time.

Won $1,100 in 20/40 mix in a couple hours, now at ploÂ…thanks to that win, surpassed the br challenge and annual goal! LetÂ’s gooooooÂ…!!!!! Super proud of myself. What a year. Learned a new poker variant, now I know them all reasonably well (some better than others!), crushing plo and hold em, slowly getting better at mix. From bar poker and 1/3 to this…wow.

This is where I wanted to be financially to make all the crazy long sessions nights and hours worthwhile. Now itÂ’s time to break my own record - again! 2024, here comes Dumbo.

Ended up $4,500 at plo, more or less even after that big multiway all in, lost some back then slowly chipped up again over the next few hours for around a $5,500 profit on the day! One of my winningest days in a while. Officially surpassed my year-end goal and BR challenge, now everything else I earn is just icing on the cake.

Got to tell my dad about the big hand I won last night and he really got a kick out of it.

Reviewing my yearly results, the only three months this year I didn't make around $20k or more were the months I started playing the big mix game, so imagine if I didn't play at all I would probably be up even more this year! Makes me pretty excited for next year. I am glad I listened to you all and stopped playing that game (even if I was a little stubborn at first), better to stick with the smaller limit mixed games for now. It was just something I needed to get out of my system at a time I was struggling with the job change and a lot of life stress and poker runbad in plo, to keep me engaged and interested in playing poker at all.

Funny, some plo players who have seen me play mix have been asking me about the game lately, maybe more people will get involved!

Meh session so far, losing small pots here and there, lost KKJJ versus QQ on QT4r in 3! pot spr 2, with both back door flush draws I went with it hoping he might have TT sometimes but he was top of range. Chopped a freeroll too and top two to bottom two nfd. Stuck $2k in a decent game. Oh well.

Just trying to play well anyway and let the chips fall where they will.

PLO: Im reading all your posts on this thread, slowly but surely, and one thing I'm curious about is... Is PLO your bread and butter these days? If so, doesnt PLO come with less control and bigger swings? Im guessing you've studied with Upswing, as Galfond is known to be not only one of the best PLO players in the world but also teachers of PLO.

Yeah plo is most of what I play these days. Sure there is more variance but less so the more skilled you are compared to your opponents. So it’s really not that swingy for the better players.

Ran it up $1,100 at 2/5, followed this whale back to plo now, already stuck a buy in dsAA and dsAKJ98 to his garbage.

Oh, and never studied with upswing, but have watched some of galfond's youtube content. Unfortunately it's all 4c.

Swingy session, started stuck over $2k running bad at plo, then made a quick $1,100 st at 2/5 with KJs cracking AA in 3! pot and QQ holding HU against a turn crai for $350 over my $110 bet with middle pair on T562. Played a little 5/T where I lost AQ to AJ on AJ5K5 and game dried up so I left for plo again where this maniac who 3! everything sat down. GII against him twice and lose, cursing my luck now back to square one again, but run it up over $2,000 with some AAs holding over the next few hours and made $1,000 on the day in the end. 18-hour session though, jeez. Slept most of the day today, feel refreshed.

Exercise in, got some sun too before it set, which was really nice. Espressos done, youtube over, time to get ready to put in another session. Saturday night, should be good!

Someone private messaged me today that I was fabricating my BR challenge results...seriously? I post graphs, chips, and app results . . . gimme a break. I'm the real deal.

Anyway, now that I've about destroyed my last goal I am setting a new BR challenge for myself: $50,000 by March 1. I will have to play very well and run decently to reach this one. Positive red line? I win without showdown a lot at plo and have it a lot, it's pretty disgusting.

Last session was also good in that I finally talked to the floor about this reg couple who play together professionally at the same table a lot, supervisor talked to them and warned against collusion and probably kicked out the husband for threatening me again after I called them out for playing together. (He was banned from mgmnh for a year for assaulting a player.) Players complain about them a lot and I finally did something about it and I am glad I did.

Annual goal for 2024 is $300,000. It's a stretch for sure but I am aiming high. I need to average $25k a month. If I get to $150,000 by mid year I think I have a shot. Fly dumbo fly!

Good day so far, probably playing a long one until this game breaks or I lose everything I brought with me, very good 25/50/(100) plo with lots of action players in the mix. Upstuck now from my 2/2 winnings but playing well anyway. This is a game I could score really big in, card dead and whiffing my best hands so far but about break even/losing slightly. The $200 flips every dealer change are adding up too.

LetÂ’s run good!!!! Whatever happens, I am happy to be in this game right now. Action player asked to listen to lady in red so I whipped out my phone and played it for the whole table, and right then there was a $30k pot all in pre with him shipping pre.

Edit: as soon as I wrote this lost AKQQJds squeezed pre $1050 with spr sub .5 gii K43 and someone went runner runner straight. Still a great game.

Was joking with you but now that you raised my suspicions with your post why not post pics after every session at rhe table with time and date I'd be willing to wager with you a bet if you do this for your next years 300k goal somethings a lil fishy idk could be right or wrong either or.. don't really care but if I had a thread I'd post results after evert session I mean why not? Would be better thread... just giving my.opinion.
