sure there is. play monday-friday during the day. it's not as lucrative, but there are plenty of idiots that play during those hours too. they're just not drunk (usually).

working with jobs i could easily get (jr college drop out, with bad work history, because a lot of breaks) i would make less. 10-12 dollars an hour, working 35 hours a week. maybe like 1500 a month.

the thing is if your like a girl you can like waitress or something and make 25+ and hour.

but for a guy with like limited like life skills its not bad job. once you get a bit of a bankroll you can live a lot of different places

lol. nah look, i could be a trucker, i can like learn a trade, like a plumber or something like that. i could like be salseman, (those car salesman make a lot). i could even work at some local company and work my way up. i am not saying their aren't opportunities for a guy to make some chedder in the richest country on earth.

just seems easier for girls that just graduated hs. like the cocktail waitresses at the casino are making what 40-50 dollars an hour?

thats right there is like top 3 percent of non college graduates i would think.

i have been broke, so like 7 grand in a couple months. not from just playing 1-2.

i played the local 250-500 tournaments, plus i went to vegas to play the 200-500 dollar tournaments at the wynn for a week (plus a bit out on the floor). between expenses and never getting a big score i went through 7 grand pretty quick.

for me personally the hardest part is wanting more. id rather be playing 2-5 and 5-10 and tournaments and stuff. its boring to sit there and listen to everyone talk about the one time their quad 8s got beat for high hand with 30 seconds left. and watch everyone limp and never bluff all day.

What is the biggest heater you guys have had? I'm up like 7500 in the last three weeks playing 1/2 and 1/3. This comes after my worst downswing ever so the timing couldn't have been better.

my favorite winning session ever, not because of the $ amount but because of how ridiculous it was, how many hands I needed to win, and because I had the full amount in front of me in $1 chips, was a time where I won $1600 at the $40 max buy-in $1/$2 at commerce. this was before i knew what a color up was so I ended up walking to the cage with 8 racks in each hand.

Well I had a pretty good November at $1/$2 $300 max. I just couldn’t lose. Of course I play 2/5 on Sunday Dec 1st and god mode ended lost 4 buying in about 5 hours.

All of these at 1/3 NL live:

Biggest session: $2218 in ~10 hours in July 2013 (other than having it in my records and knowing I did in fact do this, I have zero recollection of how I actually did it). My next biggest session is $1598, so my largest session is 39% larger than my second largest session. Interestingly enough, the previous session I booked my 6th biggest win of $1492 over ~7 hours, which means in back-to-back sessions in July 2013 I booked $3710 over ~17 hours. Ah, the good'ol days, although somehow this year in April I booked my 4th biggest win of $1537 over 10.5 hours (an anomaly for me nowadays).

My biggest win streak was 15 in row, from Feb - May 2013, where I won $5676 over ~138 hours @ $41.01/hr.

My biggest heater was Oct - Dec 2012, where I won $8553 over ~144 hours @ $59.50/hr.

Those two heaters are all within my best 1000 hour stretch, where over 118 sessions / ~1013 hours I won $38895 to the tune of $38.37/hr from May 2012 - Apr 2014. This overall stretch really stands out as an anomaly on my overall giraffe, but lol @ 1000 hour sample sizes, amirite? ETA: Looking at my overall record as of today, this means that 40% of my overall winnings came in this 21% of overall play time period.

$1/2 PLO: $1880 over 5.3 hours (2/'19) My top 7 winning sessions are all PLO.
$1/2 NLHE: $1130 over 3.2 hours (5/'14)

How about biggest losses?

$1/2 PLO: -$800 over 6 hours (11/'18) Think that was McGregor / Mayfield fight night and a crazy game.
$1/2 NLHE: -$800 over 6.3 hours (4/'12)

Biggest losses in 1/3 NL live:

In 605 sessions, I've lost over $1000 twice. First time was June 2011 where I lost all $1200 I had brought with me (the last two BIs were abortions on my part). I rectified that by since always bringing $2000 to the poker room and being very cognizant of the importance of not tilting off good $$$ after $$$ (I was still relatively new to NL and the importance of this really sunk in with this loss / my play). In March 2015 I lost $1013 (in a session I felt I played fine).

Biggest heater was begging of last year. 37 sessions, 75 hours, $154/hr, 37.7 BB/hr of mostly 2/5 and some smaller games mixed in for a total of $11,538.

Longest streak was 14 sessions in a row, almost matched that recently but ended that streak at 13 last month.

Largest single sessions scores are not impressive since I usually cut and run after a double up+ but the last couple of years I've been pushing the wins further on occasion depending on how much time I have.
1/2 - $1,354
1/3 - $1,435
2/5 - $1,799

My past ~2.3k hrs. Probably coming off my biggest heater now, right after a terrible downturn/BE stretch. Past 500 hrs are half 5/5, half 5/10. Everything before is mostly 5/5. (To be honest, I have 1.1k hrs before this, but they're mostly BE because I played BE. Just look at the HH I used to post)

Since May 2017, > 90% 1/2 and 1/3. Rest 2/5 and 5/5.

Breakeven means between -$50 and $50. Interesting how I have 35% sessions that are straight up losing. I usually end the session if I'm down more than two buy ins unless I have a very good reason not to. From the graph, it looks like I was running good until about 900 ish hours in. A brutal break even stretch followed and it was in Vegas during last years WSOP which was very tilting since I was expecting to have a higher than normal win rate during that time.

Biggest Wins:

1/2: $1500
1/3: $1900
2/5: $1050
5/5: $800

Biggest Losses:

1/2: -$710
1/3: -$690
2/5: -$900
5/5: -$890

Biggest 2/5 win so far was only $3500. I don’t buy in super deep and I tend to lock up wins.

Biggest heater was when I won ~22,000 in five weeks this June and the first week of July playing 2/5.

Biggest single loss was ~$1800. I’ve lost that amount two or three times this year. Biggest downswing was ~$3500.

I don’t have very big swings, my results month to month are abnormally consistent.
