Table was playing pretty deep a lot of players had 600-900 in front of them at $1/$3.
V is MABG wearing headphones sunglasses and a hat he came to the table with $450. He was also annoyed another player picked up his card and handed it to him when he moved seats. Stared him down for like 10s and was saying this guy under his breath, seemed to be an ego thing.
Saw him
  • limped an utg straddle in +1 and call 80 raise from aggro player and ship it for 200 on QQJ. Apparently the aggro player had KK but folded
  • Couple limps OWG makes it 40, he calls in the utg straddle with KK. He donked diamonds completing on the turn with no diamond for 2/3ish sizing
  • Called with OESD on turn for potsize all in, a flush draw might also have been on the board as well

OTTH:
The aggro player who is tilted makes it 15 UTG, Hero raises 50 on the btn, V calls the 50 in the SB, aggro player folds. Hero has black TT
Flop $100 A86shh V donks $15. Hero probes back with $40 total raise. V probes back with $75 total raise. Hero calls.
Turn $250 in pot Kc. so A86K. V checks. Hero all in 300 he fold.

Analysis: Folding on the flop seems really bad, just calling might set him up to overbet turn if he thinks I'm always raising AA and AK and AQ so he can get me off the hand. I decided to small bet back so it wasn't clear what my hand strength was. He decides to do the same thing. At this point I thought just call and evaluate the turn cause he could be doing this with sets or two pair etc. When he checked the turn I did not want to face an all in from him on the river when I check back. He could have KK or AA here from the history of only calling with KK earlier but it seems odd he would check turn and let me see hearts for free if I have a flush draw. Thought bet would give the draws a price they can't call and maybe he even pussies out and folds two pair like A8 or A6 on the AK board when I have all the AK, AA, KK since the table hasn't been 3 betting very often.
Should I have just called the flop and folded the turn or river when he bet? Should I have raised the flop big when he could have been baiting me with good hand? Was this flop line bad?

I probe-ably check behind and probe-ably don't ram into a button-clicking egomaniac with third pair.

I probably just flat preflop. No other dead money to go after / players already in the pot to deny equity to / Button to buy / we'd hate getting re-raised and have to fold / etc. If it invites along a blind, whatever, no biggee.

Flop seems to be massive button clicking by everyone involved, imo. I have no idea what a lol 1/6th PSB raise is attempting to accomplish. I just call here for this price in position and play a turn. And I just fold to the lol reraise as this is like strong as hell 99.9% of the time (also noting given KK history hand that AA is still in play).

Next time don't give results as it will bias responses. But turn is just a massive punt (even though it looks like it worked out here), imo. I don't get here / this way, but I would just check back and hope to showdown / make a river decision.

ETA: In general, I attempt to play a small pot when I have a small hand (especially a showdownable one). We played a massively large pot with an extremely mediocre hand.
