2/3 game

UTG raises to 10, MP calls, I call from MP2 with 44, sb calls. eff stacks 400

Flop K78 check check I bet 15 sb folds utg calls MP folds.

TUrn J check check

River 2 check check

THoughts? Weak line? SHould I bet the turn to rep something?

Thanks in advance

I don't hate preflop especially if there are some horrible players at the table.

I don't hate a bet or check on the flop when checked to. If betting, I like the small bet.

I'm done with the hand once called and happily take our showdown value on the river. Mostly consider (but don't necessarily do) river bluffing/repping more in spots where we can't possibly win without betting or a decent draw came in that we can rep (none of which applies here).

What was your plan for the hand after you decided to bet?

Not sure if I like the flop bet. But at least we bet small. I just think we get called too often here.

I don’t like the flop bet just because SB could easily have a K, as could MP. I see TP flop checks lots at this stake level, especially when they weren’t the PF aggressor. I guess we are betting flop for protection/denial, but we are borderline bluffing. I think checking 3 streets and trying to get our SD value is the best plan. The problem with a flop bet, even a small one, is that the 7 and the 8 hit lots of combos that low stakes players could flat PF and check call flop with. When we bet flop we only want folds here, and the odds of all 3 players not having a single piece of it are too low IMO. We either bet the 44 with the sole intention of bluffing, or we check it down all the way for SD I think. We called PF to set mine, we didn’t hit out set, so now either get to river at no additional cost or bluff if its appropriate.
