Hero has about $850 to start. Has been most active pre the last 30-40 hands, with a lot of my raises being UTG, so probably looking a bit laggy after getting caught on a bluff or two, except that I haven't really had any opportunities whatsoever to 3b since I'm getting all my hands in EP.

V starts with about $1400 and is moderate aggression pre and heavy agro post. Has had a handful of double/triple barrels and mostly winning showdowns. Seems like a good player and has done a competent job of running a few passive/nit players over.

Hero raises UTG+2 with AA to $20. V, to my immediately left, quickly 3bets to $45. I'm having a hard time understanding whether this is an iso raise with AK/AQ or a value raise with KK (or even the 1 remaining combo of AA). I think 88-QQ makes it bigger but I digress.

It folds around and I decide to flat the raise OOP. I think a 4b here looks too strong and I'm thinking KK shows up here often enough that I'd rather give this guy some rope with his aggressive play.

Flop ($97) is Q74 rainbow. I check and V bets $75. This was my first decision point, and I think I'd often check-raise here but this guy was so agro that I decided to flat and figure I'd check-raise the turn if he fired again.

Turn is a 2, completing the rainbow. Check/check.

River ($247) is a Q

This is where I couldn't make my mind up. Should I lead river for value and get called by 88-JJ? If I lead for value, am I calling any shoves since I block AQ? Could a fairly agro V 3b so small with KQ? Do I check to induce?

I've thought about the hand for a while and still haven't made my mind up.

You have built a great image.

Make it $115 pre and bet just about all flops.

With your line, you built a small pot, out of position, and don't really know what you are doing....with aces.

I don't really understand your reasoning either:

"I'm thinking KK shows up here often enough that I'd rather give this guy some rope with his aggressive play."

...you'd rather give the guy some rope in a small pot, than build a big pot and be the aggressor?

KK is never folding pre, why wouldn't you raise?

I dunno, just don't get it altogether

KK shows up often enough doesn't mean I'm ranging him on only KK, or even weighing it heaviest with the strange 3b size. I'd weigh his range towards AK/AQ more often actually and I want him to keep firing away, particularly if he gets a piece of the flop. He was being very aggressive postflop, not necessarily pre. I didn't want to scare him off AQo with a 4b when I wasn't showing any 3b or 4b the last 40+ hands.

As played bet river. 2/3 or even over bet makes sense. Bet call a raise if somehow he raises there.

if he's not aggro pre then his range is weighted towards very strong hands making a 4 bet correct
if he was super agro pre i could understand your line a little more
i also don't like letting someone take control of the hand with some ***** ass min raise in general and you need to 4 bet him a decent amount when he does this.
as it stands you've gotten to the river on the dries board ever and he's only put in 75 dollars more when he likely would have put in a lot more along the way

Jesus if you want to move up from 2/5 the first thing you need to do is 4 bet aa.

Such passive play is killing your win rate. How are you going to build a bankroll flatting aa oop to an ep 3 bet?

If you think he is aggro postflop .Call him down with your medium strength hands..you don't need to slow play your strong hands just to punish his aggression.

As played over bet this river and get the value you deserve from this damn hand ...hope he looks you up with jj or tt

As a general rule when aggro barrel heavy low stakes players check behind on turn, just start over betting rivers ..at these stakes anyway.

4bet pre, flat is terrible:

- your 4bet range should include AA otherwise it's too weak

- your 4bet range should include AA otherwise you miss value

- you have a bluffy/LAGgy image? JFC how can you mention this and then not 4 bet the nuts, it's like you hate money!

- you are 150bb+ effective

- you are OOP

As played yeah go ahead and bet/fold the river. But this is bad and you should feel bad.
