Cash 1/3 - $260 effective stack

CT - hero -Qs9s bet 20
Small - Call 20

Pot- 50

Flop- 9s4s2o

I was wondering if I bet for value or bluff?, since he donkey bet he could have a better 9 than me.

what was your hand and the board? looks like you put a 9s for both. Assuming you had a pair of 9s a bet should definitely have been for value rather than bluff. Id tend to let a villain continue by just calling in this situation. Raise on turn if anything

With your hand, top pair with 2 spades (is that correct?) then I would just call his bet there and bet turn regardless.

Check out No-Limit Hold ’em For Advanced Players by Matthew Janda. He spends a lot of time explaining why thinking in terms of "value or bluff" is incorrect.

Basically he says that we bet to deny equity or to build the pot or both. In this hand, it is probably both.

Bad deck with two 9s. Hand over and floor called for new setup.
