7 handed 5/5NL

V is UTG opens 25 [tight regular; 1k]
MP call [terrible LP fish; 600]
H calls BTN AdJd [has TAG image; 1k]
Flop A94r [80]
V checks, mp checks, hero checks
Turn Jhh [80]
V checks, mp checks, hero 50
V xr to 160, we flat
River Jx [400]
V checks, Hero sizing?

**This line seems so nutted until the river, but even then what are we targeting ? Do we bet large repping missed fd to get looked up light?

I like a more polarized river bet here. He will have a hard time laying down a big Ace. You played it really well I think. You’re hand is disguised and looks like a busted flush.

Um... villain's hand looks like a busted fd. I think you need to bet really small and hope for a bluff raise.

I think villain played this really well. Checked flop with what appears to be nothing, bet either a draw or bluffing the draw, when river is the worst card possible for a bluff, he gave up.

Yeah, I’m targeting his AX hands, not his busted draws. Going big 3/4-full pot looks good.

Vs a tight players utg open how many Ax hands do you realistically thing he has after checking flop?

Bet $350 and hope villain raises.

Villain has already checked to you on river. His busted draws won't call anything and you can ignore them entirely. His AX can be discounted because he checked flop, JX is unlikely to raise turn. The AX and any other weaker made hands he was bluffing with or testing the water with have given up.

So go ahead and target the strong end of his range. They make up most the range that might call any bet at this point. A9/J9/99 and any stray Jx that he might have. If villain has AA you lose your stack to a terrible cooler but so be it.

It would be helpful to know whether or not the A was a heart.

When we flat the turn we can have a lot of draws that missed so I think we should go huge here. I kind of like going 1.25x pot to 500. It's a really sick line super polarized we're definitely top of our range here on the BTN.

He could’ve check A9s or ATs. Maybe even more AXs depending on how wide he is. Live players also make stupid traps with AK.

I wish there was more info on him besides tight reg since that's really kinda broad. I don't think any sane reg would check top set ott after everyone checked the flop. His c/r looks more like a bluff but then again tight players don't really take those lines. I would bet 200 or 300 and prob call it off (based on the limited info at hand).

Entirely possible, although I didn’t think a tight Reg would try to Blast our hero off his hand with just a draw. Hero has plenty of 99/j9/jj here given preflop action.

It feels more like V checks very dry board with TPTK and checks hoping H would stab. Then he x r when H in fact stabs turn.

I would politely disagree that V’s line is good unless he has the stone cold nuts Aa here. Which he might....... Why risk getting blown off a good draw?

V may well check river with the stone nuts hoping H will stab Jx like he did on the turn. If so it’s just a cooler and I still like H line.

If you lost with second boat here to the one combination that makes top boat, whatever, Mikey did the same thing in Rounders. Time to drive the bagel truck.

Ignore his draws OTR. If he had a draw he decided to x/r, he's clearly decided to x/f (probably well-considered).

Given *our* line we could also have a draw that we decided to stab turn. So I go huge, targeting his weirdly-played AK/AQ. Minimum $400.

In fact, I actually like the jam here. AK will have a real decision and you get maximum value from 99.

If he has AA, so be it. That's just a cooler and I'm not wasting value trying to preserve my stack.
