1/2 with straddle - aggressive dynamic between villain and hero.

Hero in bb (600) called villain down very light in 3 bet pot earlier. Villain value shipped light and was good with KT on K232 double flush draw board.

Villain (covers) - seems to be a good player can't decide if TAG or not, hasnt played many hands, but has played them aggressively for the most part - never played with before but value bets thin and is competent post flop. Not the player at the table I am really targeting all that much at this point.

Hero in BB with TT in straddle pot. 3 limps to V in SB who makes it 25.

Hero?

Hero thinks for about 30 seconds and calls.

Flop (70)
Q77 rainbow.

Villain leads for 80.

hero?

Weird that he would overbet the pot on that board. Seems very polarized, and more towards air, but he's also seen you call down light, so air should be discounted as he may think he has no FE against you. I prob peel one and see if he shuts down. Looking to realize SDV here, not turn TT into a bluff imo, so generally folding if he bets turn big and checking back if he checks. Then likely calling river (depending on run-out) as he might see the check back as weakness and take another stab.

As for pre, I call since we're in position. No need to bloat the pot with a 3-bet.

Do you ever consider just folding flop?

More info:

Hero says, "why so much"

V: "I have the best hand and don't want you to catch up"

I definitely consider it. It's the overbet on a paired board that makes me suspicious, but maybe that's the point. With the speech, I prob fold, especially as it's such a silly response for a board that bone dry. APD desensitized me to speeches and I haven't been folding to them enough. It's cost me a lot.

That said, I wouldn't ask, as we've just announced "even if I call this street, I'm definitely scared. Please take it away OTT."

Such a gross spot...All of my options seem bad. I guess that means the guy is playing good.

Does he raise 88 99 from the small blind?

If he doesn't have those hands in his range than this looks like KK AA trying to build a pot.

Also what has his sizing been in previous hands?

First time playing with this villain - first time he has entered a straddle pot - generally his sizing is between 12-15 in standard pots.

The game is 1/2/5 or 1/2/4? Are you the straddle or the actual big-blind? In spots like this I'm aggressively re-raising with a wide variety of hands. As I feel that my opponents are likely squeezing too many hands compared to the hands they continue on in the hand with. The tough time I have with TT is that, it feels like a tweener hand, we're not confident getting stacks in when we get four-bet. However, we're likely ahead of his re-raise calling range and certainly well ahead of his squeezing range. Regardless, I would be re-raising pre-flop. TT is too strong of a hand compared to the rest of the hands I may re-raise in this spot. I think there is immediate value to be had by re-raising.

I think 3 bet folding is probably best until I have some reason to think he four bets light ever, which at 1/2 is like 5% of players maybe...probably fewer.

The only problem with that is we are so deep and stacking v with a set is huge.

In the future, don't ask questions. You told the villain a lot more about your hand than you learned. If you had QQ, you'd wonder why he bet so big? You've got 88-TP.

Since you gave away your hand, I'd just fold.

To be honest, I decided on folding before asking, but that's a good point. Thanks, Venice.
