Game is 2-5. Hero has (~600) villian has (~550). Hero raises UTG to 15 with QhQd. Folds to villian in cutoff that calls. Heads up. Flip comes 10 5 4 all spades. Hero bets 20 and villian calls. Turn is 3d. Hero bets 35, villian minraises to 70. Hero thinks and calls. River is 9d. Hero checks and villian bets 140. Hero tanks and folds. Bad or good? Villian is moderately loose and moderately aggressive. He failed to call with top top like half hour back against hero when hero jammed river. Has seemed slightly irritated since then. But seemed calm during this hand. Not sure.

I can see him calling them raising turn and bombing river with flush. Might do it with a straight or complete air. What do you guys think?

Against a villain that leans aggressive if you call the turn you should be planning on calling a river bet also. Aggressive villains will carry through with their bluffs in these situations most of the time.

This is all about the read at the table but I would lean call turn and call river as long as it wasn't another spade. Against a tight or passive one I would recommend fold turn the first time he does this.

Crob, in case you haven't noticed, all of your posts are getting moved from the mid stakes forum to the low stakes forum. This is not an accident.
2/5 hands (and even some 5/10 hands depending on the information presented) belong in the low stakes forum.

check the flop or the turn.
Our hadn't isn't strong enough to go for 3 streets of value here, esp out of position.
I prefer betting the flop and checking the turn. Sometimes check calling sometimes check folding depending on reads and sizing.

In this hand I would have bet the flop, check called the turn, then check called most bets that were under $100 on the river allowing him to bluff often and value own him self with worse 1p hands that think they are best vs our 'obvious' missed overs + flush draw.

Oh sorry. When I clicked mid stakes. At the top it said 2-4 to 5-10 belong in this section. I'll post in low stakes from now on then.

Yeah I wasn't sure how I felt checking flop with 3 spades. And turn I figured protect my hand and get value thinking it will most of the time be flush draws or pair and flush draws. Didn't ever think he woke up with a ton on this board as he would likely always raise flop to protect his sets and two pairs. I felt he was just getting out of line with his bluffs

Bet the flop, check the turn.

You're in EP, raising. He puts you on a big pair and is going to force you out. Keep the pot small and get to a cheap showdown.
