Also the herd will measure how your drive & capacity pair up. If everyone is clawing to be valedictorian then the same amount of work will get you vastly different results then the typical high school.
Do you think the 'rents cut out chess lessons so jayden would do more math?
Kind of. I'd like to think I've always (and will continue to) work incredibly hard but since time is limited you can't approach everything this way.
So wrt school I've found it natural to put in the least amount of the work needed to achieve the best results (grades). i.e. Working smarter rather than harder
So like 3hrs of studying for me may = 12 hrs of studying for Jayden. Similarly, 1 hr of studying for Garick may = 3 hrs studying for me.
but for valedictorian yeah i guess this doesn't apply. Since everyone's a "crusher". More so like top 3%.
wrt to parents cutting out chess lessons, no of course not. That was the point: it's a bs excuse. For xyz reason. i.e. i was able to crush chess while also crushing school, so speaking from "experience" (thread's favorite success attribute). And also these kids don't have similar goals as I did so the time dedicated is only a fraction of my my efforts.
That being said, i used to think it was a lack of satisfaction. It sometimes it, but I'm more coming around to it largely being out of my control now. but feelie gave a lot of great food for thought for me to keep in mind as well.

Oh and people stop dialogue 'ghost' without warning or the slightest sense of shame. That might comes as a surprise if you were raised properly.
qft. came as a huge surprise initially. This applies to a surprisingly large % of people too. i.e. even parents who are
very successful at their craft and should know better.
don't do this guys! seriously. ik it's uncomfortable to end things but just face it. :/
