The guy that discovered he was positive for covid-19 mid-flight has been banned for life from JetBlue. What a dummy. He should have kept his mouth shut or just not gotten tested in the first place.

that's what happens when government takes a backseat and sits back and watches while the nba and jetblue decide public policy on a piecemeal basis
but, guy is a dickweed and belongs in jail - he knew he was highly likely to have it (hence why he took the test) and then instead of waiting a few extra hours he boards a plane and finds out on landing
in rickroll's dictatorship he's in jail or at least exiled - can have those people in society - should be charged with manslaughter if anyone that can be traced back to him dies
he did the "right thing" by telling them but only after doing a massively "wrong thing" so that doesn't make up for it
he knew he was likely to have it and instead of isolating for a few hours decides to board a flight to the highest concentration of the most vulnerable population of america... i genuinely don't see that man any differently than someone like ted bundy
ted bundy at least had a reason, he enjoyed it, this guy didn't want to be inconvenienced in the offchance he didn't have it
Well, he didn't purposefully tell them. Flight attendants heard him talking to another passenger. You are wrong to compare him to Ted Bundy. Bundy was one of a kind, a very rare breed. There are millions of people that would do exactly what this man did if given the opportunity.

which is why government can't sit back and shrug
coronavirus and foreign invasions are the sole purpose of government
i'd feel much more at ease if we also tasked the military with pandemics instead of waiting for the NBA and Jetblue to act on their own
I'm guessing most degens are still going to their poker room as long as it is kept open. Wynn is closing its poker room and sports book starting tomorrow.
So how is the economy going to react when schools all close and parents have to figure out child care? I know several states have already closed schools. Oregon, New Mexico, Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, and Michigan that I know of. Cities too, Atlanta, Austin, Philly, Dallas, Seattle, etc.
Anecdotally, my kid’s school closed but some in my state are still open. My wife is taking a leave of absence from work. That’s 1 less person in the work force. Since we’re losing income, we’re going to spend less. I kind of think that is going to be the same for many families.
Productivity will go down. Spending will go down because people aren't going out as much. US government will give some relief but there will still be layoffs and business closures. MGM just announced layoffs.
in the 1918 flu pandemic San Francisco made it mandatory for people to wear masks and there are documented cases of policeman shooting people on the street who didn't wear them
democracy doesn't mean the government can't take severe actions to enforce unpopular but necessary rules
we've grown soft over our last several decades of mind blowing prosperity and have re-imagined our system to be something it never was
look at the decline and fall of most empires, it's nearly always after a lengthy period of success they get complacement and start winding up with irresponsible and nonsensical government and then reality sets in and they fall catastrophically - not trying to say the sky is falling or anything, but i see a lot of parallels
Wear a mask or we kill you on sight. Yup, sounds like a good idea... Wow.
So tell me... Should we take further advantage of the crisis and expand the reeducation camps of the Uyghurs for, umm, other political opponents? Maybe a couple more days until WWII style internment camps?

i like your dogs a lot more than all the strawmen you conjure up
you should actually read what i wrote instead of doing what you're doing
that article doesn't advocate for shooting either, the health officer fired in the air to get him to comply, at which point the deranged idiot charged him, only then was he shot
As things stood a month ago with the economy booming, a slight favorite. with a recession and a cluster**** of a response to a health crisis, a huge underdog.
Much of Orange Man's supporters believe this is a hoax or a way to grab more power...or something. I think logically his handling of this should disqualify him but this is politics and that doesn't mean it will play out that way.

FFS... Armed "health officers"?! Firing into the air for crowd control?

Welp, when the other side accused Tulsi Gabbard of being a Russian agent, and then changed the Democrat Debate rules to prevent her from "qualifying" one does wonder what's next.
We made our company 100% remote for the foreseeable future.
Most of our direct competition has either closed up or gone to a skeleton staff. This will be an interesting time. I would expect many other industries will have a common theme. It’s going to be a lot of boom and bust if this continues for more than a few months.

Try to stay out of public policy please.
yeah it's so awful
you should familiarize yourself with some basic data first
we literally don't know how many people died in 1918 because eventually they stopped counting in most cities because it got so unmanageable
people were dieing so quickly we stopped dealing with it in a formalized manner but just sent carts down the streets and had people bring the bodies out and they were dropped in mass graves
this was literally happening in US cities in 1918
i'm not saying the officer was right or wrong to do that specific action, but they had very good reason to enforce public order
we're not going to see eye to eye here, that's fine, just don't come at me with invented straw men. that's pathetic. I also have no idea why you oddly try to link that to uighurs like that is at all relevant to this conversation. Have no idea where you are going with that. You may as well have stated "I bet cheerios taste better than wheaties" and it would have been just as relevant.
I don't know what you're trying but you should be better than that. if you want to disagree that's fine but disagree with what i actually stated, otherwise you look like an ignorant dumbass yelling at clouds.
I dunno what you mean by that, I have some guesses, but point is abstract new stories is one thing, negative turn of events that have a direct impact on you a completely different.
You can’t bs your way out of people losing their jobs or a loved one.
