We gave out mixed Lindt chocolates, these things :

https://premiumchocolateco.com.au/pr...-assorted-1kg/

Trick or treat is less popular in Australia than the States, we had probably half a dozen visits. Mostly the really young kids with mum in tow, was quite sweet.

Does anyone actually give out full sized candy bars any more? That's insane.

We had 73 kids, about par for the course around here.

Barg/beat: still a box+ of candy left over for me to pig out on.

**** yeah I do. Skittles and Starbursts this year. I usually have teddy grahams and gummy bears for the little ones. (Though tbf I usually don't get that many kids.)

Be honest GG - you are nitty enough to palm candy out of the kiddie's bags, right?

Oooh, I can't believe I didn't even think about palming the good stuff outta the kiddie's bags, noted for next year.

ETA: Will definitely have to sit to the left of the Lindt house.

Had to lolz at the local newzcast yesterday. Instead of pushing the time-honoured fear mongering of inspecting the kids Halloween candies for razor blades, they've now gotten with the times and it's all about the importance of inspecting for accidental giveaways of the parent's drug induced treats.

We actually had the Suicide Prevention lady spew this (completely non-suicide related) idiocy in our Suicide Prevention course last month. Yeah, I called her out on it. Stupid scarelore. Doesn't anyone know to check Snopes before they pass on crap like that?

chaos up where we are. Our suburb has developed a reputation for egg fights and kids from other suburbs come up and walk/drive around throwing eggs at other kids. So the young kids do the trick or treating early and then are all off the streets by about 6 when there are running battles of groups of teens all over the place. It didn't escalate into anything bigger this year as there were loads of cops around (who got egged as well) but it's not a great vibe. My son (12) absolutely loved it despite coming home with a head full of egg and having the eggs he bought confiscated by the cops. One of his buddies (13) got arrested after egging a cop and being chased down and the cop then found a Gel Blaster that he'd stolen from his dad's workshop and was firing at other kids!

This season on 60 Days In, they were talking about how you shouldn't trade for pills in jail because you don't know exactly what you are taking and it could be something that kills you. Is that real or is that just fear mongering? I was mostly worried about the pill having been in the inmates mouth. Like, do you have a clean mouth? Do you brush your tongue? Did you wash with Listerine first? But now they talkin like taking a pill could result in death. Is there a snopes article on this?

I woke up today and weighted myself at 230 lbs, the heaviest I've ever been.

Feeling well-rested and powerful, I immediately got dressed and went to the gym. Did some warm-ups and loaded 535 lbs on a bar. Picked that **** up first try.

So that's the new PR for now, hoping for 600 in a couple years. No PED's (yet).

I would say years ago I was a much fatter and less fit 205 lbs than I am now at 230 lbs. My strength goals require me to eat a lot and bulk up.

I can’t take credit for this. It was the mrs.

I just sat there and gave it away

Looks like you did the sit-in-your-driveway candy giveaway?

We did that the last two years and gave candy away via a socially distanced Candy Cannon which the kids seemed to like.

But now just back to normal and boringly giving candy away at the door. Even had a couple of kids comment on how there was no Candy Cannon this year, I think they missed it.

And as I'm writing this, I've just realized I've totally forgotten to bring some chocolate bars to work with me this morning. * tilts just a little bit more *

Offices have reopened in America's hat? I'm still 95+% WFH, with no plans to return to "normal" anytime soon (ever!).

Previous to the 'vid, daze after Halloween there would be scores of candy in the break rooms or on people's desks.

We had 3 groups of 2-4 kids each, for our second lowest turnout in the house in 10 years of living here. I've got fun-sized Snickers and Twix for the foreseeable future (4-5 days, really)
