Table: I've been here for 9 hands.
Mostly semi-bad regs with 2 unknowns.

Upon sitting down I'm told that the 8 seat is sort of crazy able to make big bluffs with weak holdings.
Also that the 9 seat (Villain) limped his btn over 6 players, and when the BB popped it to $22, he raised to $47 and shows A9o when everyone folds.

Hero: I raised my first hand in UTG cBet and no one called. I raised my button that first orbit, and now I'm back UTG.
Bought in for $250, at $290 at the moment.

Villain: Played the hand described above. Raised 3 of the nine hands that I was at the table so far. Normally plays 2/5 (asked the floor about when its starting) but I've never seen him at this casino before. Seems like he has a bit of an ego. (Covers hero.)

Hand
Pre
Hero limps UTG with QQ
4 players limp
V raises on the button to $17
SB & BB fold
Hero raises to $40
All fold
V calls
Flop ($85): J72
Herp checks
V checks

I expected V to fire a lot of flops here, with the intention of check calling the flop, betting turn and river for 3 streets of value. But apparently not.

Turn ($85): 7
Hero bets $55
V calls

River ($215): J
Hero bets $90

Thoughts?

I would raise a bit more Preflop considering we're oop and are vulnerable to overcards. The flop check is fine of he's going to bet a majority of the time. He's obviously betting all his J(which we want). Board is so dry that I like the check hoping to induce. Turn is good. Not many 7s in his range and we're getting raised if he has one. River bet is enough to get called by 88-1010.

Overall I think it's played fine. Just l/r bigger pre.

Too much FPS.

Open the 1st time. There is NO WAY you know that there will be a raise within your 1st orbit at a 1/2 game. Just open yourself to $12-$15.

Checking after a lrr is bad. Just bet ~2/5 of pot on a dry board like this. Try to build a pot to get stacks in, we have QQ man!

The l/rr really depends on how you play. If you like to limp a lot of hands pf (a bad idea at a good table), then I can understand the l/rr to protect your trash like 66. So I can't comment on the play in abstract, although it doesn't seem you know the players well. In that case, I think you lose a lot of value with QQ pf.

As played, I'd put you on what you have, an OP. The real question is what are you going to do when he shoves over. Obviously, a fold or call isn't a big deal. If he can hand read, your hand is obvious. If you plan to fold to a raise, you should check the river. If you plan to call, nh.

Ya sizing of your limp reraise needs to be like 50-55, you have the villain way too good of odds to call. I think once you have limp reraised you should always be C betting to continue your story not to mention any A or K is bad for you if he checks behind. Also what made you think he would bet after you LRR and checked? That doesn't make any since. If you lead the flop you could have stacks in by the turn and hopefully he has 1010 or AJ or something. You got way to fancy for my liking IMO.
