QQ in BB after SB 3-bet QQ in BB after SB 3-bet

Hi all,

1/3 NL at MD Live Casino. I am playing $250, villain is playing $175. Fish makes it $13 UTG+1 and SB (middle aged Indian seems like a decent player - no real reads) 3! $35. I flat with QQ in BB. Fish folds.

Flop: 10c-8c-2d. Villain bets $45. I call.

Turn: 3s. Villain jams before even seeing the turn for around $90. Hero?

Thanks,
DT

Gotta call. Even if his range is TT-AA and just the suited combos of AK we are getting the right price. The key decision points in this hand are preflop and to a lesser extent on the flop. Either he only 3 bets QQ-AA in which case fold pre, or he doesn’t cbet with AK when he misses in which case fold flop. Obviously we can’t know these things but we have to make assumptions and we should try to be consistent with our assumptions. If we thought he could have hands like AK/AQ, the turn doesn’t give us any reason why we should be changing our assumptions about his range. If he fired flop with that hand I doubt he’s going to just check turn.

The fact that he’s 3 betting against a fish opening means he’s probably wider and will have some more hands that you beat.

Please put pot sizes on each street in OP.

Stack size for fish may matter for preflop decision.

I'd probably default to shipping this pre. We're probably losing our stack if either has KK+; V could call with AK or maybe JJ/TT; I don't think QQ is quite strong enough that I want to give fish a profitable call with a fairly wide range.

AP, I'm shipping the flop. We're obviously committed and there's no reason to let V see another card without putting more money in the pot.

AP, yeah, call it off OTT, but we're often beat. The small flop lead (45 into 83) might could be a bluff, but when it's followed by shipping 90 into 173 it's either desperation or a real hand, and most of the real hands are ahead of us. If I were V with AK, I'd just ship the flop.

For just $175, I'm probably going broke with QQ preflop and reraising. But it also really depends on the situation. Here a fish raises in EP and it's folded around to the SB, so if fish is raising a lotta hands I think SB could easily be isolating / willing to play for stacks against fish with a wider range than just AA/KK. But if fish has a tight raising range and SB simply only 3bets a tight range regardless, then more to think about.

Not really sure what our preflop / flop thinking is. Are we trapping or are we concerned we're behind? Anyhoo, board is drawy and there are just way too many scare cards to just flat the flop if we think we're ahead. I jam the flop.

As played, not loving life, but we're still ahead of JJ and AKs/AQs (and probably all hands in his range are shoving for just a 1/2 PSB of $90).

We these stack sizes, I think we mostly have to make our commitment decision preflop.

I'm probably 4! this pre to at least $100.

Also jamming flop.

Never folding for $90 more on the turn here.

All of the above. Flat or 4! pre are both fine, but given stacks you have to go with it on that board.
