New to the site, first post. I play $1/2 live about 2 nights a week and occasionally $2/5. I win fairly regularly ($31/hr live last 2 years) but I don't believe myself to be a particularly good player. The room I play is soft and I take advantage of the soft players and generally avoid those who are better than me. Played a hand last night I'd like to get thoughts on.

Full 10-handed table, 7 regs including me. I'm against 2 of the unknowns.

UTG raises to $5 (unusual for the room but he has done it several times). I don't know him, silk shirt, fancy cigar, big tipper, I believe he's a bad player (inexperienced, doesn't understand beyond the basics of the game, no control over physical tells) and I've owned him several times thus far. Playing ~$110.

LP calls the $5. Also don't know him. Playing ~$325. Doesn't appear to be a great player, Loose-Passive, but is a n, sitting immediately to my right. A very nice guy, we're chatting it up very friendly and he is throwing the right lingo around. Says he plays $2/5 and $5/10 a bit. I think he thinks I'm a good TAG/LAG player (not really the case).

I have two black K's on the button and make it $32. I'm playing ~$350. I've been playing winning LAG thus far (table is fairly easy to read and nitty so I've been pushing and right so far) UTG calls and MP calls.

Flop: 4s8h10d. UTG goes all in for $79. MP doesn't hesitate much and smoothes the $79. I call the $79. I'm expecting the MP to attempt to check it down at this point. Do you guys advocating raising here? I feel solid, probably against Ax, maybe PP, but certainly sets, 10 8, 7 9 and J9 are all possible. I don't feel like a reraise gets called by worse.

Turn: Kd. Jackpot, MP checks and has ~$180 behind. Side pot is dry. What is the right bet here? I bet $100 thinking he'll pay the turn and is committed on the river is he's there and if he's not he'll call the $100 thinking he's getting the right odds to draw when he's not. MP calls.

River: 9c. MP checks, I put him in for his remaining $90, he folds, claimed to have had J9. UTG had AQo

Any thoughts on the flop call or the turn bet into the dry pot are appreciated. Trying to get better every day. Thanks.

V2 is terrible, but congrats to you on your impressive win-rate. Seems like you'd have ~1k hours assuming a 5hr av session. That's fantastic. In your next hand, leave out the results as it can bias opinions.

I'm fine with flatting the flop, but the turn is an easy shove. There's $330 in the pot already. By my math w/ a $325 starting stack, V has $214 behind, so this is an easy 2/3PSB.

Just raise the flop. How is the situation going to improve vis-a-vis trying to get the rest of his money? Not getting called by worse isn't really the point. The point is that you can't allow him to have two free draws at beating you in a massive pot. If he did have J9 and you let him draw twice, he's ~30%. That's like $110 of equity you're handing out. Raising the flop is to protect that equity.

jam the flop calling is really bad you're letting villain see the turn for free essentially.

Thanks. I'm about ~500 hrs in, usually only catch a couple hours after work on the way home.

Chris / Rich - appreciate it. It didn't seem like I played it right even though I had a good outcome. Thanks.
