Y'all can put together some type of committee of three - but it's a terrible idea to make those: a. hold ALL escrows and b. Make them the final decision makers - maybe they can volunteer to make recommendations on a decision but not to create finality.

I think the payout process has been fine. If ppl have issues, we speak up and resolve them. But there needs to be a better escrow system then whoever says they'll hold it first does so. I mean this past time was just not good. It honestly made me a bit uneasy that the escrow process seemed to be behind the scenes.

Some new person can't just come in here and say "hey I have 2k, who will hold escrow" and someone pms behind scenes then says in thread they're holding it. That makes it kind of awkward.

I think there should def be a list somewhere of the vouch/escrows. It was a spreadsheet bluff created.

I agree with this. I don't like the idea of designating 3 members to hold escrows - especially if the thread grows and we gain new members.

It's safer if escrows are disbursed among more members as opposed to concentrated with 3 members. Diversification and such.

The big takeaway which comes up everytime is that when an issue arises it needs to be made public ASAP. In this instance it's clear Bluff was betting without an ability to pay up immediately. If Zeta or S87 said something sooner it could have been avoided. However I don't blame either of them - it was really on Bluff to come clean sooner.

The above guys seem to care for thread and thread safety and in my short time here watching and playing they have been reputable. And they also don't always agree with each other which is a good thing when it comes to a committee. Also agree though they shouldn't hold all escrows but maybe the should have to approve so to speak. And when needed they can vote on things and we'll say like 70% of remaining members in thread would have to come together to veto something if necessary (I don't see this happening but good to have in case)

ETA- how often does a situation occur where a ruling or problem is a actually a concern? Everyone seems like a easy going, like minded group I can't imagine too many problems arise, even the slowpayers seem like good ppl who just went a little over board.

So-called committee for decisions imo sounds like 3 is best number with a couple alternates in case one of the 3 is involved. This can be any number of issues and doesn't imply any sort of payment or angling issue. A couple weeks ago, Bacon and I had a weird situation come up that neither of us could remember a set precedent, it was obvious neither one was angling the other, yet we wanted an impartial decision from elsewhere, and more than one person would've been best. But instead of bringing to thread and having a non-focused discussion which may just be whoever happens to have been around that night, the two of us agreed to a conclusion (which imo is best and should be tried first)

I'm very much interested in holding escrows or being on some sort of panel. Kinda like thread sheriff as Angerpush says.

My favorite are long time thread members who bet in thread once a month, lose, and then immediately forget their bet was booked. Yes I will call you out publicly for $50 lol
