Player A is better than player B so gives a 100 point handicap. Both players forget to discuss a buyout.
After Week 1, Player A (performing above expectation over and above his perceived supremacy) is up by 50. In Week 2, he wins by 17 points for a running total of 67 points.
If Player B wants to buy out, how much?
Thanks!
Whatever Player A and Player B will both agree to. As you stated, there is no currently agreed upon buyout, so it would be whatever they agree to now.
If what you mean to ask is people's opinion on what a fair buy-out would be, then my initial thought is about $552.40 (
assuming that the handicap makes Player A and Player B even), but I spent about 30 seconds thinking about this.
The 100 handicap points is about 5.88 points per week spread out evenly over the 17 week season.
If we assume the handicap points make the players even, then all we have to do is add 50 and 17 and subtract 11.76 to figure how much Player A is up at the moment. This comes to 55.24. As stated earlier, we are assuming the handicap points make the players even, so the expectation going forward is for the two players to breakeven. Therefore, theoretically Player A would remain up 55.24 through the end of the year.
Each point is $10. So $552.40.
