Your "Gonzales" is actually Luis Suárez lol.

And that team was more than Forlán and Suárez. Their midfield was very hard-working and got the job done (press, win the ball, then give it to Forlán). Lugano was one of the defenders of the tournament. And of course Forlán and Suárez scored goals, but that Uruguay squad played excellently as a team (cliché, I know).

Uruguay played 3 forwards in Suárez, Forlán, and Cavani, who are all complete forwards. There was a lot of movement and exchanging of positions up front, with Forlán often dropping deeper to receive the ball from the midfield. It's a strategy that makes sense if a striker is your best player, but I would still call him a striker and not a midfielder.
