Lol obviously iveys leveling...

DN asked the same during a highstakes on Gsn. He said no and then laughed...obviously its a rediculous question to ask him anyways...think of the irony

Also like percula said...final table play or bubble play or even itm play are so unbelievably different then 1/2 2/5 cash or for that matter any cash game.

OMG OMG
i'm thinking up my first spoiler!!! (such a noob!)
I think i'll save it!

ILCD, joking aside,

close your eyes,
Imagine that you are paying ANL, or dgiharris $100/ hour for coaching.

NOW are you listening to what they are saying?

you are so lucky that they are offering you sound advice, that is tailored to your specific problems, and they are'nt exactly 'watching the clock', either.
that is hard to get from a PAID coach, fer chrisssakes!!
they are giving freely of thier time to you.
They really want you to be a better player, it seems.
I can't think of any other reason why they persist in even acknowleging you?
they certainly have nothing to prove, by doing so, or to gain.

How do you magically reduce the volume on this forum by 50%??
Spoiler:

.........put ILCD on ignore.
01-28-2011 , 07:24 PM
Damn that's cold hahahahhahahaha I love the needle, I feel like Phil hellmuth on these forums. I'm so easy to pick on in these forums.

Never in real life though hahhahahahaha that's what makes it so hilarious.

You guys make me work harder and harder everyday.

Thanks 2+2 LLSNL, signing up is way better then lurking. I should have signed up 2years ago.

I really think I'm on winners tilt. I have not lost a session in 18 days. The longest run ever for me. No rebuys either.

thread was called "PI unaware of EV definition" by DS

I posted:

David Skalansky unaware of Phil Ivey definition.

I did take it serious. Everyone always talks EV. But who actually does the calculations during a hand? If you are your a nerd maybe. Poker is a game of feel. Math has no feeling. A lot of people just memorize away from the table.

ill admit i make many imprecise calculations regarding equities and EV but i go with them because i've sat at home and analyzed hands post a session and tried to give more thought to my estimations/numbers/etc.

I dont consider myself a "math only" player but the "intuition" is gained by doing the math away from the table a lot of times. Some folks might simply be born with a knack for making EV estimations for things like "if i bet X on the river, opponent will call Y % of the time" where X and Y maximize EV. But i would say it takes time getting to that point, and maybe someone might argue you're doing some form of math, albeit less consciously.

Yeah I just use odds of winning. Along with pot odds, to make my calls. All those wierd math problems at the table. Would give me a headache.

Besides I have seen ds and bill Chen play. Math does not make them great players. So I think its overrated.

Humphrey Bogart to Peter Lorre in Casablanca
gets my vote for most scathing.

it's true that despising someone is a kind of complement, but
ignoring them is the biggest insult.

which reminds me...
