My guess is that he and Antonio get far more invitations to play in private games with big money and big fish than durrrr or Ivey. At the end of the night, the fish may have lost money, but they would leave feeling they got their money's worth.

The moral is that you don't have to the best player in the world. You only have to be the best player at your table.
Have you watched any of the coverage thus far. I see why he calls him self the uni-bomber. The overbet postflop is his best weapon, he uses it as a defensive bet and to apply pressure when he is bluffing. Incredible if you ask me. He owned jungleman for about 80k pounds. He had one of the best players in the world on tilt from his play.

I never had respect for Laaks game. But after 48 hours of coverage I have a different understanding.

Anyone played any cruise ship poker?
Yeah. It's funny. Lots of folks who just wanna have fun and know they're spending money like water. Rake is brutal, but the game is still super beatable. TPGK usually good for 100BBs.

Fits my experience perfectly.
04-13-2012 , 07:51 PM
the downside, of course, being that you have to be on a cruise.

Yeah...the whole cruise thing is tough, but I'll find a way to battle through it

Did y'all have real dealers? Was told that it's often machine dealt. And does 10% up to $10 sound about right from your experience?

I got back from Vegas today. The best vacation ever. I won 2400. Blue Man Group and Penn&Teller were excellent. Love was just ok. I still love the Venetian. MPethy was MIA but I ain't gonna cry about it. I'm sure he had a good reason.

A 4-handed LLSNL mod cash game or tournament in Vegas seems like it would be a lot of fun. We'd have to get some coverage going tho

In general nobody respects anything once he loses an election. This thread is a completely normal example of how atheists are the biggest proselytizers right now.

I actually mapped it out during the political correctness craze of the early 90s;

Tuesday night: You should be tolerant of my beliefs. Intolerance is evil.
Friday afternoon: Let's agree to disagree, everyone should be open minded.
Weekend: Problem solved.

Monday morning: You're beliefs from last week are the cause of intolerance and evil; change them to fit mine.

For actual poker chat. Last night game in Phoenix was a great example of Thursday's "LAG vs passive debate"

There were multiple 1k stacks in my 3/5 game. THe live one hit a lucky pot and left. The rest of the regs started 'Sitting behind a log' old slang for nitting it up and folding all the hands that they were misplaying 5 minutes earlier. We went from $150 in the pot preflop, to chopping the blinds in a short handed game; all over a span of 15 minutes. I was basically waiting for them to get dealt Ace king and mess it up when I was in the hand.

During the folding they started talking shop and I learned

"You lose more with 10-5 than with 10-3. 10-5 makes a lot of second best straights."

My battery is about to die, so you might not hear anymore rambling from me for at least an hour or two.

1) Met my wife on a cruise while we were both cheating on our respective significant others.

2) This cruise was a family reunion that my grandmother in law had paid for.

I ran so good at my last session that I am a little reluctant to go back, lol. My pessimism surprises me sometimes.

Oh well, here we go.
