Honestly have not folded a winner. Won two pots with Ace high.
What's your pre shoving range?

@BigSkip If your 50bbs you have to shove some kind of way. To get deeper vs those dudes.

@Rizeagainst even though I don't like you. 2 ways to get more money in the pot in a limped multiway. C/r or overbet ip.
04-23-2012 , 09:43 PM
With 1/2 the table, I would happily get it in with 88+/K-J+. Won one of my two pits raising a-9 and calling the shove from a shortie. Held against Q-10.

This is epically card dead. Seriously. Not a strategy issue. Loose game and hardly anything playable.

I have 150 BBs. They are shallow.
04-23-2012 , 09:51 PM
Oh ok, you got the right strategy "pick off the shorties". 150bigs is a good stack size. The effective was 50bigs, I thought you were 50bigs.
04-23-2012 , 09:52 PM
Now logging hands. Last 25 hands: 22 of 25 were 7 high offsuit. Preflop raise on 20 of them. Other 3 hands were J-4o. All 3.

On the plus side, I am up $75. Weeeeeeee!

My wife is on a 2 week poker trip following one of the tourney trails. She's heavily over-rolled for the 5/5 500-1500 she usually plays in, but I'm finding myself nervous as hell that she's playing in her biggest game to date 3000 miles away. 5-10 300-3000. I think she bought in full, mostly because she balls hard, partly because she's Asian. Weird having a poker pro wife. Well, she's got a sick IRL job, but she puts in ~30-40 hours a week.
04-23-2012 , 10:45 PM
Your wife is cool. I would love to have an asian poker pro gf.
04-23-2012 , 10:49 PM
Recommend meeting her in high school and having a job that makes you secure enough to be OK with Chad Brown trying really hard to **** her...

Lmao, just read David's thread in NVG seen Jack and HTJ in their. I just posted my thoughts. Lmao.

Way back in stone age 2p2, 2004, someone asked if there was a dress code for the casino. The first ten posters told him he could get away without a tux if his suit was well pressed

Lol. David Sklansky- "temp-banned"
04-24-2012 , 01:47 AM
How this is his site right or his brother site?

I sense a mod is about to get fired.
04-24-2012 , 01:52 AM
Mods take they're job too serious. David can say what ever the hell he wants. If he called bobo and the other mods dicks they should say thankyou David. As long as the guy is not selling shoes or something stupid.

I bet you Banhammer did it. DN video log is so funny. He wouldn't say the mods name. Just banhammer.
04-24-2012 , 01:56 AM
I'm guessing its a joke. Cause people were bitching that they temp banned for advertising his blog and DS was just advertising his book in that thread. He stopped responding to the thread, which is too bad because I would be interested to hear about his thoughts on people's criticisms of his theory.
04-24-2012 , 02:00 AM
Lol, I would never read any of his books. Only if someone paid me.
04-24-2012 , 02:03 AM
No one can ban an admin afaik. I'm sure it's just a joke.

Mat is David's son fwiw.

I played poker @ MGM this afternoon. I think it was prob the toughest 1/2 line up I've seen. I'd be surprised if 5 of them didn't play for a living, and the other 3 were very competent amateurs. I left after bout 30 mins up $50 and went to Bellagio. Much easier game...was at a table with 2 guys who had never met who own Italian restaurants. Made a couple hundred in a couple hours.

Tournament series going on at MGM. Terrible time to play there on a weekday.

theory of poker says hi. or you can just mimic your favorite player who says cbet 95% of the time and never know why this may or may not actually be a good strategy.

Galfond and Limon are my theorist who ever you are.

lol went on a +$1500 dollar heater tonight over 80 minutes.

the hands

-hero($300ish) is utg and planning to leave after hand. raises to 12 w/AQcc, 3 callers. sb donks for 29, bb(drunk) calls, i make it 95 all day on a T87cc board. sb flats and then bb shoves in his 1.3k stack, i insta jam b/c i think sb isn't very strong but don't mind if he comes along obv. sb hems and haws and eventually folds AT face up, bb has 98o. i ask to run it twice and bb says ok. i get an ace on the turn but a 6 falls on the river to give bb the first board. i river a flush the second time and decide i have to play a couple of more orbits.

-EP raises a limper, sb from previous hand calls from HJ+1, i make it $40 from the CO w/TT, EP/HJ+1 calls. meh. flop is T74dd and i decide to check it back when it gets checked to me($220 behind). turn is a J putting two fds out there and i'm planning on making a big bet. EP leads for 100, HJ+1 calls(lol?), i jam for 120 more, both call. river is a 9, they both check and mhig. EP=AJ, HJ+1= KJ w/bdfd.

-next orbit in the CO i call HJ's(drunk from 1st hand) 12 open with AJs and it's three way to the flop of A88 and i'm think i'm about to get paid. HJ overbets pot to 50, i call and we're HU to the turn. turn is the gin Jack giving me two pair, HJ checks, i bet 100, and he ships for 500 more. i have AJ on A88J facing a 300bb check raise. now this guy had taken this line 4-5 times tonight with top pair-weak/no kicker so while i was never folding, still was a little uneasy about the call. HJ flips up A9 and i dodge two 8s and rake in a 1.4k pot

- I 3bet a $12 open to 30 with AK in position and get cold 4bet by an aggro player prone to gamble who makes it 60. he's got a little over 250 more so i call. flop is QJT lol and snap when he jams flop.

one of the juicier games i've played in with a couple of players busting 1.5k stacks. and to think i was ready to leave, but river the 2nd board when running it twice and i pretty much never run it twice lol. was card dead for the preceding 4 hours too
04-24-2012 , 02:51 AM
did have one interesting hand where there was a EP raise to 10, solid reg makes it 40 and i look down and see AKcc. we're about 450 deep so i'm planning on calling but look left and see a players about to fold A7 so instead i fold after thinking for a few seconds. standard?
04-24-2012 , 03:49 AM
My card deadedness finally ended. Finished up $250. Played with one of the more annoying women I have ever played with. Busted her out when I rivered the nut boat with AQ on a A-A-2-4-Q board, and picked up a cool $150 on a river bet from another villain. Might have been a fouled deck though - he claimed he had AK and she claimed she had A2. Someone was lying.

Played short handed tonight and did really well.
