i was thinking like jam spread

Cash games last night ran like ******* against the 3rd worst player at the table. Basically if we were in a coin flip scenario, he would actually be a 3:1 fav against me. Sigh. 1st tournie in under an hour. Gogogo

Ive mentioned this already in a couple of other threads but me and some guy who thinks he's God's gift to poker high carded for $5 a piece... He beat me 10 in a row... It was sick. He would draw a 4, I would get a 3. Whenever I drew first it was no higher than a 5. I hated losing to him.


Lesson learned though... I dont high card anymore as I am a 10:1 underdog.

Was thinking 88+ myself, you would almost never see a T here IME, if you did then guess that's a good shove by villain, but I guess you could argue like TT+, I am a station when it comes to these random donk/spazz shoves though. Just a spot when no one ever has much, even better when someone donks into you an a 844 flop or something they almost never have anything better than 8x. (standard players anyway)

similar thing happened to me last night. its actually an interesting dilemma that i should have posted here earlier. it was 2/5 i had $300 (yes, i know. give me a break. i was told it was 1/2 before i came) i have 9-8s on a 8 way limped pot ($40). flop came out 8-8-8. i was first to act and definitely at a crossroads because the high hand jackpot, which was usually ~$80, requires you use 2 cards so my 9 currently played but might not if a high card peels off, so i shoved, with the hope of getting called by a pocket pair (as long as it wasnt by a stack <80) . what would you have done? Some of the players may have stacked off if their J,Q, or K came on the turn thinking we were chopping but some more savvy wouldn't knowing it was an 8 way limped pot, so did i make the right play by shoving. I also didnt want to check and then somebody take a stab at it, them dislike the a turn ace or what not and play cautiously the rest of the way while i lose my 9 kicker for the jackpot.

no offense but shoving is awful. awwwwful. especially first to act especially such a huge overbet.

as for calling ranges on a TTT flop vs a shove id be fine with 99+

similar spot to ashley12 but i wasnt preflop raiser, flop 444 someone shoves like 120 into 70 i folded 99 geezer had TT (folded around, he showed).
