Its definately a leak in a vacuum, but I find that randomly holding SMS conversations, facebooking and browsing 2+2 allows me to play longer and not feel as anxious when things are not going as well, as well as keeps my VP$IP from slowly creeping up due to boredom/anxiety.
Anyway, I lost my phone today at university, left it accidently on the floor of a bathroom stall, went out, realised I left it there 5 minutes later, and obviously gone. Done all the paper work etc... with filing lost property reports so I can claim insurance, but since I cant actually make the claim till Monday morning (Its 3:50pm here, 6:50pm where the claims actually get made, so must wait) I will spend the entire weekend without a mobile phone.
Since electronic devices while ACTUALLY playing, such as iPods and the like are banned (you can use your phone while standing up and not in a hand) it will be interesting to see whether I pay more attention, notice some extra things, and whether I "get tired" earlier then my usual Friday night sessions which are usually around ~10 hours in length.
gogogogogogogo
It went alright.
I did notice a few extra things, and one spot in particular where someone opens in MP to a standard amount, and I just flatted with AK since I had paid enough attention to notice that he was playing 35/3 or so rather then my usual default of 3betting QQ+ and AK absolutely no matter what.
Other then that it was the standard Friday night, made just over a buyin doing nothing but playing super standard pots and spots. The only rather unique hand was a hand where I raised the button to 30 after a few limpers with JJ, and the SB made a small raise to 60 with about 140 back. He has seen me raise/fold to almost minraises preflop OOP and has asked me why before. He has also 3bet as light as 99 before so I thought for a bit and shipped it. He called with KK but I sucked out by turning a set.

Not usually, but if I get into a passionate SMS exchange about a topic close to my heart, such as how badly my West Coast Eagles played today, or LOL this band, I will jump up each hand for 4 or 5 hands in a row, and resume my seat to fold UTG+1.
Actually leads me to a good story.
Australian Open this year. Lleyton Hewitt (who has been my favourite player for the last 15 years as a kid, not so much now) is playing Andy Roddick in the second round. I look up the prices expecting to see Roddick as a narrow favourite, instead, he is a huge favourite (Hewitt was paying $4.20, which I think is expressed as +320 in American gambling numbers). So I put the biggest sports bet of my life on Hewitt to win, and obviously want to sweat the match.
Turns out the poker room claims to not be able to receive the channel that the Open is on (A free-to-air channel that isnt through foxtel, that they HAVE actually had in the room for the last few years).
As luck would have it my phone provider is the sponsor of the Open and I can stream the match live on my phone. So I try and do that, and am told that between hands,I cant have the phone on my lap, so I leave it in my pocket. I am then told I cant touch my phone while having a running program. I then try to leave my phone not in my reach, instead acting purely as a makeshift TV, and am told that is verboten as well.
I eventually rage quit and go to the sports bar in the casino. Instead, they claim to not receive the channel as well. I end up in the poker room on the couch for an hour and a bit listening to music and giving updates on the score for a few people. Sadly, Roddick wins the first set, but Hewitt wins the 2nd and 3rd, setting up for a win. Unfortunately, Roddick retires and because I put the bet on at the sportsbook here rather then on a site such as Betfair I merely get my money back on the unfinished match, whereas on Betfair I would have been paid because a full set got played, as well as got a better price
Cool story bro.

I havent got the ability on my spreadsheet to sort by days of the week, but the eyeball test suggests that Fridays could be up to 2x better for me then midweek, and possibly a lot bigger for others who have smaller winrates (i.e I turn $25ph to $50, but someone else is able to turn a $10 winrate into $30 and triple their earn)
