I think the benefit of posting really simply comes in constantly thinking about the game. If we didn't constantly post / read terrible advice / critically think / even accidentally post terrible advice of our own, I'm pretty sure our game would suffer.

My game condition is vastly different than those of other people, so when I think hand discussions have more to do with game dynamic and reads, I tend to stay away from those.

I only post in GG's threads because I know he likes my weak passive advice.

Also, I'd have to check since I don't subscribe to the paleo stuff, but I don't think whole grains are part of it either.
I'm aware whole grains aren't part of it and I think the paleo diet is a poor diet as well. It is a bunch of pseudo science mumbo jumobo. You obviously didn't read the entire post since that was in sentence #1.

+1

DGAF was even saying he only post(ed) as a way for him to mentally work out,
and practice thinking about pokers, not to prove any points, or to be altrustic, and give away free advice.
looks like he got to the point where he wasnt getting anything out of it anymore, so he's done.
its good to think about everyones motivations.
no one here is Mother Teresa, even Ray Zee. he's got books to sell.

I don't post much either anymore. I used to post in a gazillion threads.

Science Again Reaffirms No Nutritional or Safety Difference Between Organic and Conventional Food

Since we are talking about fake diets and stuff...thoughts on the above

Lmao that's the way I post as well, I'm challenged, but if I just agreed with everyone the forums would be boring and not a learning tool. I guess dgaf got tired of everyone riding his nuts.

This is definitely true, but the problem I have is that I still believe he's just a made up fictional character intentionally spewing bad (albeit sometimes entertainingly bad) advice. This is different from the rest of us, who no doubt also offer bad advice / lines at times, but do so sincerely.

legitimate reasons for political debate:

[ ] to prove the other guy wrong

[ ] to keep your own belief-sytems and world-view intact

[X] to have a mutually beneficial exchange of ideas in which both sides might actually learn something.

Irony in this post, DUCY?

Spoiler:

The aphorism "the proof is in the pudding" is actually a misquote of Cervantes' Don Quixote -- a book about a man who acts arrogant and foolish because of his deeply held delusions of superiority.

DUCY now?

Spoiler:

Just like Don Quixote has delusions of being a knight errant that cause him to act like a fool across the Spanish countryside, ILCD has delusions of being a winning player that cause him to post foolish, overgeneralized, incoherent advice with an air of condescension.

This is such a strange response to what I said that I've concluded you must be trolling. GL with that.

From my reading on paleo it seems like a good diet in the sense that if someone follows it they have to cut out a bunch of crap from their diet but if someone is disciplined enough to just eat well then they could have a far healthier diet by just learning a bit about nutrition and eating well.

I don't think I'm superior, but I'm not going to agree with anybody on poker, the reason is its more than one way to play poker, it just depends entirely on your strategy, I'm not going to be making thin calls in lowstakes because my villains are passive aggressive, I think thin calls are a leak, others think certain hands are the nuts, anyone with a brain could have dissected this argument.

But Nooooo I have to be wrong and a troll, smh.

This is a great example of the kind of incoherent BS that everyone is talking about.

passive-aggressive player -- no such thing.

talk about how you dont make thin calls etc etc -- condescending "anyone who disagrees with me is a bad/not advanced/leaky player" argument.
10-10-2012 , 03:41 PM
by definition, thin calls are very close to being bad

Problem is that you don't actually provide any reasoning nor any reference, and you don't see that as a problem.

All you do is simply refuting someone.
