Shortcuts is slowly making the software more bearable. I'm not having too much trouble with the time bank while cascading. The most annoying thing at the moment is windows not popping up when I'm browsing this thread while playing

V8 is terrible for you. Just straight sodium and calories. Drink coffee with artificial sweetener, tea or water. If you gotta have soda go for the coke zero. that stuff is awesome and 0 calories.

Actually a 11.5 oz can only has 70 calories, but yeah, 29% of the rda of sodium. There's one with lower salt, but I rmember it tasting like crap (not that the regular one tastes good). Just throwing it into the mix. Oddly, I can't drink anything with caffeine in it. I gave up coffee with the wife when she was pregnant with our 2nd, and found that I didn't miss it (I used to have 1-2 cups a day). But now when I have caffeine, I can't sleep for like 24 hours. Hence the caffeine free diet pepsi. I'm actually surprised no one gave me flack for that. :-)

Some of the noob shortstackers are superbad. There was one guy like a month ago who would 3 bet like 1/3 his stack and then fold to a shove. Lol. He was easy money for a while. Haven't seen that move since.

you should get back on the coffee. it's actually really good for you. try getting back on the bandwagon with some green tea. Also very good for you, and has less caffeine than coffee.

yeah I mean V8 doesn't have a ton of calories, I was just saying it doesn't really have enough vitamins to make up for the ton of sodium and unneccessary calories. If people are trying to improve their diet most everyone can cut almost 100% of their liquid calories out (w the obvious exception of booze).
07-28-2009 , 01:01 AM
Yeah I only drink water aside from when boozing and I like it a bunch. I have been indulging in lots of bolthouse protein chai's and the jugo juice protein's lately though.

v8 would be good if it actually was v8 but its just 90% tomato juice, water, and salt. The other 7 vegetables suck even though they're non existent.

milk is the other exception

true. I dont drink milk except in protein shakes, coffee, and on cereal so I always forget that one. but yeah non-fat milk is really good. low calories, protein, and calcium.

broke 6 figures in winnings on the year pre RB and bonii. Felt like a pretty good accomplishment. Now I'll go read the blogs of some HS players or something to get motivated to grind harder in the final 5 months of the year and see if I can duplicate those results.

Artificial sweetener can't be good. Unless you want cancer. Or some other kind of problem we haven't even heard of yet.

dating a doctor who has been involved in lots of research and says that is all bologna. One study showed a possibility that mice consuming very large amounts of artificial sweeteners may have a hightened risk of developing some forms of cancer. That study has never been duplicated with humans, and there has never been any evidence that the use of artificial sweeteners has increased humans risk of developing cancer. However consuming several hundred calories of sugary drinks a day can clearly contribute to obesity, diabetes, blood pressure, and blood sugar problems. Not to mention that diets high in processed sugars seem to have a correlation with people who often experience fatigue during the day and often have a decreased sex drive.

so given the choice between the two I'm going to keep drinking the fake stuff.
07-28-2009 , 06:54 AM
i drink 85% water 5 % milk 5% tea and coffee and 5% redbull coke etc and eat 70% meat and veg with no salt added and then like 20% sushi and 10% mcdonalds and other random junk food

if i'm playing live however this totally changes and becomes like 50% water 50% coffee and 100% **** food

i don't really try and eat healthy i just am quite lucky that i don't like most ****ty food i don't like fries and potato chips etc only thing i eat a lot of that isn't great is chocolate espcially when i get the munchies . . .

Prop bet on which one of us gets cancer first?

Anyway, why does it have to be a choice between the two? Can't you just drink some water or tea? Or maybe some diet beverages sweetened with stuff like xylitol or stevia? For every n00b doctor you're dating who says diet soda is totally safe, I could probably find 100,000 on the internet that say otherwise. I mean, just go do a Google search on the health risks of diet soda and see for yourself.

But, even if you don't believe artificial sweeteners are bad, there are about 10 good reasons not to drink soda at all and, of those, 9 apply to diet soda.
