This is a new must move table. Villain is a young guy who bought in with like 150. Just starting the hand his stack drops to 85. I had about 270.

Villain has been active at the beginning by opening small and losing all the hands without showdown. Then he slows down a bit until this hand.

Villain opens UTG+2 by min raise to 6. I call at CO with 55. Heads-up to...

Flop (12): Jd6s4d

He checks and I?

Spoiler:
I check behind.
Turn: 8c
He bets 10 and I?

Spoiler:
I call pretty quickly.

River: As
He bets 20 and I?

Spoiler:
I fold.

Flop is fine, just live to see another day here, not the hand to go with even against an aggro fish.

Check flop and fold when he bets. Low pairs are good set mining hands against an aggressive villain because they will almost always pay you off when the set hits but bad for calling down. It's just too likely that villain beats you accidentally. Your not going to call 3 streets of betting with 55 so unless villain has been doing a lot of c-bet and give up plays just give up the flop yourself.
Here even calling preflop is marginal just because villain's stack is so short.

This is a classic case of "no set, no bet."

Preflop is a bit meh due to stack sizes and the fact this guy often doesn't have anything (so we're rarely getting stacks when we hit), especially if anyone behind is squeezy. If everyone behind is loose/passive, then more fine and let's just ~setmine 5ways.

I think I'd mostly bet small on the flop, probably a $5 chip. If called, I probably check to showdown and evaluate if he donks the river.

One of the reasons I'd rather put in money myself on the flop and attempt to end things now is that this hand is easily going to turn into 4th or 5th pair by the river, which makes bluff catching with it very difficult. So the turn spot is now difficult, and the river will likely be even more difficult. I think I just give up on the turn in this small pot and move on.

And I'm definitely giving up on the river.

You played the hand pretty well. Turn looks like he could have AK/AQ that he’s betting for protection/value and plans to check back on river —think you need to call turn — I expect that river will go check/check a bunch and you win. AP this river sucks because all his AK/AQ are now ahead. Think you have an easy fold now at the stone bottom of your range + it’s hard to find bluffs in his range + you actually lose to some of his bluffs like 76.

WP throughout imo.

Not quite sure what you're questioning on your play?
