Man I was on a really berry patch of a table today.
can't remember all the specific details so this will be as best as I can remembe
1/3 NL400
I ($600) have 8h6h on the SB
Stan ($550) raises to 15 UTG+1 with what I'm assuming is AK: ~ 5 callers.
Flop is: Ah9h6s
Stan c-bet 25: 4 callers
Turn is: Kc
Stan bets 100
Everyone folds but me (button)
I have a flush draw and a pair getting incorrect odds to call but I felt like gambling.
River is 6c
all my chips are in stacks of 100 and I just quickly whip one into the pot no hesitation. He snap calls.
There are higher full houses on the board but I did put him on AK.
How would one determine the bet sizing for this river?
By percentage of pot?
Increasing progressively in tempo with the streets?
What would you bet here?

I would def consider shoving the river.
At least $225 though imo.

It'll look so much like a missed draw.

Shove looks good. 100 is way to small, even AJ/AQ is likely calling bigger.

Odds look OK to call, factoring in implied odds.

And yeah, bet some large amount on the river. You have like 460 and pot is 375? I might bet 300. Shoving also reasonable.

Overbet shove to look extra bluffy. Sometimes you get snapped off by AA but oh well. Sometimes it's just your turn to die.

The effective stack was $550. There is exactly a pot sized bet remaining.

Gotta shove that river.

Pre-flop is pretty bad being OOP.

I can't convince myself of a good reason not to check the river. You shouldn't expect him to slow down on this river with his range. Are we targeting AQ/AJ?

Don't put people on AK (or any single hand). Put them on a range. If you really think AK is the majority of his range then ok, but why not AQ/AA/99 etc?

There are times to donk. Is it unreasonable here to think V will bet/fold 150$. Maybe sometimes check behind. I think donk jamming river puts him in a bad spot because he will call with AK,AQ,AJ a decent percentage of the time. Also if V checks behind this hand is a trainwreck.
