9players 1/3 max buy in 600, most people have around 500, I have 400.

Villain is in BB and covers, he is a regular but its my first time in the table with him, this is my 4th session in this casino and I have not played poker in years, used to play online, so I get really nervous (heart pumping in my head nervous..) and am still very passive / MUBSy postflop.

UTG+2 makes it 11, I call in the BTN with 33, SB and BB call.

Flop (44$) TsTc8s w FD, checks around

Turn (44$) 3h I bink bottom set, SB leads 20 Villain calls, I make it 70, SB folds Villain call.

River (204$) 4h Villain donks 80.. call or shove?

In hindsight turn should be bigger, apart from that I think the hand played itself.

In a lot of LLSNL lineups, being passive / MUBSy postflop might not actually be a bad thing (or at the very least probably not nearly as bad as you think it may be). IMO.

What position are we? Being the first to call a preflop raise with a small pocket pair is very meh unless perhaps we're in LP.

Flop I'm either/or. Fine with a checkback but don't think betting small is a big mistake either.

I'm fine with turn and don't really think larger is necessary (we don't want to blow out draws that are drawing ~dead).

Interesting river spot. Against a reg (and especially with my nitty image), against what looks like a blocking bet sizing with Tx, I would minraise/fold. No one is re-raising the river without a boat and we lose to all boats. Meanwhile a lotta capable regs will be able to fold some of their Tx to a shove (especially when there isn't a crapload of busted draws we could be getting out-of-line with).

I was in the BTN, yeah I have a nitty image because that's what I still am.. I still get my BPM to 80% every time I look at AA/KK..

I see a lot of people nittier than me there that I can't wait to get comfortable 3beting more etc..

Don't play outside your game / what you are comfortable with just cuz external reasons / pressure. If you have a style that works ~ok for you in this game then it probably is ~ok.

You'll become more comfortable at the table as you get some hands under your belt. Then maybe you can consider making uncomfortable adjustments if you see fit.

Raise bigger on turn. At least make it $80.

Raise river. Make it at least $200.

To be fair, V was in the BB, getting >4:1 on a call pre-flop. He could literally have any two going to the flop.

100$ ott. River is an awkward spot. I had a hand like this the other night but with flush over flush on a paired board

Td 7h 5c 3d 5d and a loose passive donked, I raised and he min 3-bet and I crapped my pants but there wasnt much back so I shoved and he called with KJdd while I had A6dd.

House over house is gross so I would just eval the player, anyone remotely gambly or aggro and I raise, anyone unknown or fishy and I just call - we miss some value but save our stack a bit from coolers and yes they have all kinds of nonsense boats here completing from BB.

Just calling to an unknown or fishy player is an enormous leak and basically backwards thinking. I jam here almost always, but ESPECIALLY if the villain is a fish or an unknown. They're far less likely to be able to let trips go and there are far more combos of just trips than full houses:

FH: T8, T4, T3
Trips: AT (we can discount but it's possible), KT, JT, T9, T7-T5 and T2 (which if you give villain T4 and T3 you also have to give them this)

If it's a FH - just reload but the majority of the time you're good and you'll be getting paid off far more often than you should.
